Jul 16, 2014 2:16 PM in response to Ryan Betby alternapop,Server Monitor was removed but the command line tool, ipmitool, is still there. Read the man page in the Terminal by typing "man ipmitool".
Mavericks' ipmitool may not be backward compatible with the OS you're trying to access if you want to use it to access remote servers.

Oct 12, 2015 11:51 AM in response to alternapopby Redbeard3469,My xServe doesn't have impitool. Can I install it?

Oct 12, 2015 1:03 PM in response to Redbeard3469by Antonio Rocco,You don't need to install it as it's already. As the other poster has mentioned you need to launch the Terminal application which you'll find in the Utilities folder in the Applications folder.
With upgrading to Mavericks you'll find it's not just Server Monitor or the blue lights on the front not working in the way you've been used to. LOM is not available either. You can search this forum on alternative ways to use the missing features the upgrade has caused. If there was to compelling reason to upgrade to Mavericks then perhaps you may benefit from downgrading back to Snow Leopard instead?

Oct 12, 2015 1:08 PM in response to Antonio Roccoby Redbeard3469,I don't seem to have it. In terminal when I man impi I get nothing. when I try to run impi it is not there. So after Snow Leopard is LOM just totally dead and not available?

man ipmitool
exactly as typed above.

Oct 13, 2015 1:09 AM in response to Redbeard3469by Antonio Rocco,Do you have access to any other Mac (not your XServe) that has Yosemite installed? If so what result you see in the Terminal window when keying in "man impitool"?

iPmitool not iMpitool
Ahhhgg!
Ok, so I do have ipmitool in Server 10.6 and Desktop 10.9.5, but not in my 10.7.5 server.
