Oct 12, 2015 11:42 AM in response to theologisby flyhard,GGood to hear that something is hapening in this matter in beta releases. Regarding Siri on, it's not that good as I often get the stupid "I seem to have lost internet connection" when I need to make a voice control call !? Really bad functionality there!

Oct 12, 2015 6:01 PM in response to lightowerby fairp,Hi guys,
I solved the blackout screen problem when launching apps on my iphone 6 running IOS 9.0.2 by turning Siri to ON, then turning the phone OFF and ON again. The bug seems to appear when using voice command, when Siri is OFF.
If the above does not help go to:

I hope it helps!

Oct 12, 2015 9:48 PM in response to Jagspecialby buzzlightyr,Folks,
I can confirm that going into settings and manually turning Siri on fixes the problem. I have not had it recur since doing this one simple thing. If it doesn't work right off, try a soft reset or power cycle after doing the above.
Looking forward to iOS 9.1 regardless.

in order to get the beta-version, you have to register on beta.apple.com for the beta-tester program and follow the steps described on that page.

Oct 14, 2015 9:03 AM in response to Jagspecialby akd835,I had the same issue with my new iphone 6s 128g. This is usually caused by a random glitch during a software update and/or restore. The solution is typically to restore the iphone through itunes. And in my case restoring the phone worked perfectly and the black out screen is no more! To restore your phone connect to itunes, make a backup, and then restore your phone. The black screen issue should be gone at this point so the next step would be to restore from your backup (it won't replace the fresh ios install - just your apps and data). Good luck!

Oct 14, 2015 3:18 PM in response to akd835by cirusc02,I Have the iPhone 5s which is doing the same thing since iOS 9 was installed. I've tried activating Siri but with no luck. Reinstalli apps does not work since it happens even with Setting, Camera, and all the other apps. Even tried the restore through iTunes but that still does not solve it. Turning off or resting only fixes it temporarily. Any other suggestions or will this be the next iOS update

Oct 14, 2015 4:56 PM in response to lisatoshby cramerlandon,Your issue with your iPhone 5 sounds similar to what I had with mine before I upgraded to a 6. Have you checked your serial number on apples iPhone 5 battery recall? Mine was affected & apple replaced it for free. The link is https://www.apple.com/support/iphone5-battery/

Oct 15, 2015 10:00 AM in response to Jagspecialby BonanzaMan75D,Wife's iPhone 6s is having the same issues as all others are describing. I've tried all the general troubleshooting that has been offered with them only temporarily helping. Hope Apple takes care of this in the next update.

Oct 15, 2015 10:39 AM in response to Jagspecialby buzzlightyr,Hi folks,
This issue completely disappeared for me after going into settings and manually turning Siri on. This can be deceptive, because I had never turned it off and in fact thought I had been using Siri since the iOS upgrade, so it never occurred to me to try this potential fix. But when I finally decided to check, Siri was indeed showing as "Off" in my settings. When I turned it on, the overall look and feel of Siri changed a little bit, and the black screen problem never returned. So this whole bug could be related to the way in which iOS9 upgraded Siri.
Try it, perhaps in combination with a soft reset afterwards. (iPhone 6 64 gb)
