Oct 12, 2015 12:53 PM in response to gutsurgby Linc Davis,Open the Internet Accounts pane in System Preferences. Make a note of the settings for the Exchange account, then delete the account. The messages will remain on the server. Recreate the account with the same settings.

Oct 13, 2015 9:47 AM in response to gutsurgby Pmintz25,Yeah that's a bummer.
You can always double check the account's settings with Microsoft. If you run into issues setting it up through Mail as an Exchange account, try setting it up by manually inputting the server settings. Just hit "Add Other Mail Account..."
Not sure what the exchange settings are unfortunately. May this article will help.

Oct 13, 2015 12:49 PM in response to gutsurgby Eric Root,Try Mail/Preferences/Accounts /Account Information. Select an account, then go to Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP). From the drop down menu select Edit SMPT server list. Then set up a server for each mail account so that is associated with the e-mail address. Then go to each account and set that server as the Outgoing Mail Server (SMPT). You can click Use only this server if desired.

Oct 13, 2015 1:02 PM in response to Eric Rootby Glenn Leblanc,Use Only This Server box does not exist anymore. But if the server set for an account goes offline, it should give you a pop up to use another instead of selecting another on its own like it use to when the box wasn't checked.
