Q: Transferring without downloading

Is there a way to watch a movie from a USB without downloading the movie?

    What do you mean "a USB"?  USB is a type of connection, not a device.  Do you mean a movie on a flash drive or a drive connected by USB?  If you hold down the option key while dragging to iTunes iTunes will not copy the file to the location set for media in preferences.  Of course when you detach the drive the movie will show as a broke link.
