ow are you downloading that is not working correctly?
Your post goes in circles and I have no idea what you have or what is happening except that you are doing something and it is not working like you think it should and you are getting error messages but for some reason choose to keep them secret from us

Oct 13, 2015 2:46 PM in response to AimzSKby léonie,My photos on my iCloud.com account are downloading as an unrecognized TEXT file rather than a JPEG onto my computer for certain photos but not all.
Are you downloading using a USB connection to our Mac? Are you downloading into rthe Photos.app or into Image Capture?
Or using My Photo Stream?
Did you edit the photos on the iPhone? Then the unreadable text files might be .AAE sidecar files with the edits,

Oct 13, 2015 3:02 PM in response to LarryHNby AimzSK,I don't get what you mean "keep them secret from us"? Which part am I keeping secret?
My iPhone is set up to upload all my photos onto my iCloud via "Photo Library". I log into my iCloud.com to access these photos and download them on my computer (by 'selecting' and hitting 'download'). The files download into my 'downloads' folder on my MAC however not all images are JPEG as it should be (about 6 out of 300 photos download as JPEG). The rest download as an unrecognized text file. I have tried this on multiple computers (MAC and PC) with the same results. I tried downloading less photos at a time (6 at a time) and all those photos downloaded as the unrecognized text file.
SO, I connected my phone to my computer directly via USB port to extract the photos from the folder on my phone. BUT the photos in question do not appear in the folder anymore, only my newest photos and about 20 random old photos. HOWEVER the photos DO appear on my phone when I click on the Photos App.

Oct 13, 2015 3:15 PM in response to léonieby AimzSK,Leonie:
In my Settings -- iCloud -- Photos -- "iCloud Photo Library" is checked yes; "Optimize iPhone Storage" is checked yes; "Upload to My Photo Steam" is checked Yes; and "iCloud Photo Sharing" is checked yes. So, I am using both - Photo Library and Photo Stream.
I have only edited about 10 photos out of the 300 that are not downloading. So, I don't think that would be it.
I don't know if this makes a difference, but while I was on the trip, my camera on my phone was having issues determining whether it was landscape or portrait. Sometimes it would be completely upside down. So I collaborated the compass again, but it still did not help. It is working fine now, but I'm not sure at which point it collaborated on its own.

Oct 13, 2015 3:20 PM in response to AimzSKby LarryHN,Oh like this
I receive an error message. What is wrong?
Clearly for anyone to help they need to know what the exact error message is
and I assume this is iCloud PHoto Library - Is it?
My iPhone is set up to upload all my photos onto my iCloud via "Photo Library".
If it is why are you logging into iCLoud.com and downloading rather than connect the Photos application to iCloud Photo Library using the same iCloud log in? Then it is all automatic
and what happens if you import into photos directly (although again using iCloud Photo library would be the best way)
the photos DO appear on my phone when I click on the Photos App.
basically you are mixing too many different technologies with direct import and iCloud Photo Library - just use iCLoud Photo Library on all devices

Oct 13, 2015 3:49 PM in response to LarryHNby AimzSK,The error message when trying to email is attached. It states "Preparing" and it just stays on that and never processes.
I just looked on the Photos and they are blurry and have an 'i' at the bottom, see attached.
I know I am using too many, but that does not solve the problem right now.
I would like to turn off one of the options, but when I try to it states it will delete the photos. So, I want to back up the photos before I do.

Oct 13, 2015 4:16 PM in response to LarryHNby AimzSK,I do not have it set up as automatic because the Mac computer is not mine, it is my fiancé's. So the computer is sync'ed to his phone. I would like to purchase my own Mac. But cant right now due to other expenses.
