Oct 14, 2015 4:05 AM in response to eskuireby KiltedTim,You were not charged. An authorization was run against the card you provided to verify that it is valid. If you used a debit card, your bank may show this as a pending charge. It will drop off in a few days at most. This is common with many merchants when you use a debit card.

Oct 14, 2015 4:24 AM in response to KiltedTimby eskuire,Actually, i posted after speaking with customer service. The rep empathized with me saying he would be upset too if charged without warning and that he has initiated a reversal of the charge which would happen in their next billing cycle. Also checked my account before speaking with customer service - the charge had been applied and is not pending. Although i wish you were right, that would have made me feel better about it! Thanks for your reply! :~) ... the customer rep also suggested i provide feedback to Apple about this issue, which i did..

Oct 15, 2015 4:12 AM in response to stedman1by eskuire,As per the Apple CSR i spoke with, a charge was applied for which he's initiated a reversal upon my request. As per my bank's CSR, a charge was applied, and not an authorization request. As the process for creating an Apple ID is automated, it's not likely a one-off, which is why i felt it prudent to post about it. (Maybe it's country specific?) If at all both the Apple and my bank's CSRs whom i spoke with did not give me correct info, and if i come to know about it eventually, i'll update this discussion. Thanks though!
