    Hi,

    I have the same problem.

I'm running OS X Yosemite on iMac Late 2009, and with Windows 7 on bootcamp. I don't have backup and would really like to avoid new installation of Windows.

I've changed partition size a long time ago and everything worked fine. After a while I installed OS X Yosemite and didn't check boot to Windows for a long time, and now that I need to I can't.

    Screen Shot 2015-10-14 at 13.51.32.png

I did quick search with TestDisk and believe that I found addresses that I need, but not sure how to delete GPT#4 and not brave enough to try on my own.

    Here are my screenshots:

    Screen Shot 2015-10-14 at 13.36.42.png

    From TestDisk:

    Screen Shot 2015-10-14 at 12.19.56.png

    Screen Shot 2015-10-14 at 12.18.55.png

Can anyone guide me through next steps?

How can I delete GPT#4 and recreate it with new start/end?

    Is the new start/end/size 1468536832/1953523704/48498673?

    Thank you!

Can you use El Capitan has deleted my bootcamp windows partition as a reference? Use 1468536832 in step 7 and +48498673 in step 8 in the first set of Gdisk steps?

Thank you for such quick reply.

    I did this:

    1. Sudo gdisk /dev/rdisk0
    2. P  (print the full list of parts)
    3. D  (delete)
    4. 4  (part 4)
    5. N  (new part)
    6. 4  (part 4)
    7. 1468536832 ( - Start offset in sectors or the start point for Bootcamp part)
    8. +48498673 ( - Size offset, as opposed to End offset)
    9. 0700 (Windows part type)
    10. P  (print list of all parts just to see what changes will be made)
    11. W (Write the new GPT)
    12. Y  (Yes! really write the new GPT)

    And then this:

    1. Sudo gdisk /dev/rdisk0
    2. P  (Print list of parts)
    3. R  (Recover)
    4. O (print current Hybrid MBR)
    5. H (chooses Hybrid)
    6. Partitions numbers to be hybridized: 2 3 4
    7. Y  (Good for GRUB question)
    8. N  (part 2 boot flag)
    9. N  (part 3 boot flag)
    10. Y  (part 4 boot flag make NTFS bootable partition)
    11. O  (print current Hybrid MBR)
    12. W (Write the new MBR)
    13. Y (Yes! write the new MBR)
    14. Reboot

But I still can not get BOOTCAMP in finder or in System Preferences -> Startup Disk

Only thing that is changed is this:

    Screen Shot 2015-10-14 at 16.11.46.png

    What can I do next?

sudo gpt -vv -r show /dev/disk0

    sudo fdisk /dev/disk0

Do you have any third-party NTFS software?

    1. Do you have NTFS-3g? If a non-Apple NTFS driver controls the BC/Windows NTFS volume, it will not show up in System Preferences.

    2. On older NTFS-3g versions, there is a Preferences panel where you can selectively disable the driver for specific volumes.

    Was your Windows partition resized?

Power down your Mac, and power it backup and hold the Alt/Option key. Can you boot into Windows?

I did have NTFS-3g but I uninstalled it from System Preferences before I wrote to you here and did all those steps.

    Should I check anywhere else?

What version of NTFS-3g did you have? Can run Disk Utility and check which driver controls the Bootcamp volume?

I'm not sure about the version.

This is what I have for BOOTCAMP in Disk Utility:

    I've tested it.

Windows option is now showing on boot with option key pressed.

    But can not start it:

You need Windows Startup Repair or use bootrec.exe - https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/927392 to rebuild your BCD.
