As a work flow it;s cumbersome to try to go back and forth between the two and things can get lost in translation.

Realistically, FCP X is where the future lies re: NLE.

Decide on your production software and get everyone who is involved to understand and accept the reasons you are choosing one editor over the other. The decision will be based on who needs to use the software, how well they can do that, and what other applications you will be sending to and receiving media from (Motion, After Effects, Logic, Photoshop, &c). You will find OS issues, network conflicts, crew competency, and personality quirks within the work group can influence your decision.
