Q: My mac won’t download updates from the App store. I’m logged in correctly. What else can I do?

I get an error message every time I try to download updates - whether it’s for apps or for my computer doesn’t seem to matter. Same message every time. And so I can not update any of my software. I have a 27 inch iMac with 2.9 GHz Intel Core i5 with OS X 10.9.5

What is the error message? If you can get a screen shot and post it that may be helpful too. In addition, have you use reviewed Troubleshooting the Mac App Store - Apple Support to see if you can find some leads there?

it just says [whatever I’m trying to download] has failed to download, try from purchases page. It gives the same response on purchases page.
