Q: Icloud for Windows does not work with Outlook 2016

I am running a pc with windows 10 and using iCloud for windows to interface with my outlook.

I upgraded to Outlook 2016 and had a problem so I ended up removing office completely and installing office 2016 from scratch.

When I try to associate my apple email account with outlook 2016 using iCloud for Windows it gives me an error that iCloud needs to be repaired.

I have done this several times and still get the same message, so I completely removed iCloud and reinstalled it directly from the Web. Same result.

Is there a fix for this or is this just a case of the iCloud product not yet upgraded to work with Outlook 2016?

It seems like iCloud add-in does NOT support Outlook 2016.

In my case, when I upgraded Office from 2013 to 2016, iCloud add-in was sort of working.

But when I tried to show calender page, it freezed for a while.  Other than that, it was OK.

Since the freeze lasted like 5 minutes or more, it was too painful.  So I decided to reinstall both of iCloud add-in and Office 2016.

That was bad idea.  Now I cannot install iCloud add-in same like you.

I guess we just need to wait untill Apple fixes the problem.

I have outlook 2013 on a PC running windows 8.1 and I also have a new Microsoft Surface pro 3 running windows 10 and outlook 2016. All my contacts and calendars sync beautifully with icloud add-in on my old (8.1) device. I got mail in outlook 2016 to work on the new surface pro, but none of the contacts and calendars will sync within outlook 2016. So, my mail on my iPhone, ipad, old pc, and new surface pro are all synced. But the new surface pro running windows 10 cannot be used for my calendars and contacts, which I consider pretty darn critical. Icloud support says it is not yet supporting windows 10 and outlook 2016. Boo!

I can sync but the calendar is out by one hour. My iPhone, iPad Air and my iCloud.com all sync correctly but Outlook 2016 shows a time one hour later. I have checked all my time zone settings on all devices and online but the problem persists. I am clueless. Help

I can not set the sync contacts with Outlook 2016 (win 10 enterprise). Still, when you start iCloud, it reports information that you need to repair your iCloud. I do this from time to time and without effect.

Same problem. I would expect at least some form of communication from Apple. As we move to a world of continuos/automatic updates, it is frankly embarassing that two giants like APPL and MSFT do not ensure compatibility on such widely used applications. Apple wake up!

I have been reading this and other threads bemoaning the inability of iCloud for Windows to work properly with Outlook 2016. A question from another person to a post I made has me thinking - is your installation 32 or 64 bit? I know many of us think 64-bit is better because Windows 10 is 64bit, but when I installed the Office 365/2016 suite on my PC. the recommended version was 32-bit. I suspect iCloud for Windows is 32-bit and thus it may not work properly with a 64-bit version of Outlook.

I hate doing this (bumping on forums) but this is very important for me right now, Apple must get back compatibility to iCloud on Outlook on its recent version, regrettably I chose an iCloud mail alias as business/work mail a few months back and now is impossible to switch to another provider.

I just downloaded the latest update to Icloud for Windows and received the same error messages I have been receiving , moreover the details listed on the download dialogue specifically state it will not support Outlook 2016.  Apple is doing a real disservice to those of us who use both platforms and when Microsoft releases it's own phone/pad I will have to switch.

Where is Apple?  This isn't something that the "support community" can solve.  They need to inform those of us who use these two platforms of their integration plans ASAP.

iCloud was updated to v5.0  but still no Office 2016 support. What gives Apple? Do I really have to change both my iPad and iPhone to get some decent level of integration with the productivity tools I use every day? iOs9 has already made both devices stutter and crash, the least Apple could do is update iCloud in a timely manner to save us more pain. Not happy.

It doesn't work with either version.

Bitterly disappointed when i realised that the Outlook add-in STILL didn't work after updating to version 5.0 of iCloud Control Panel.

After stuffing around reinstalling it several times I eventually found the Outlook add-in file called "APLZOD32.dll" located in "C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Internet Services" by default.

In the details pane it confirms that the add-in had not been updated since the last iCloud Control Panel update on July 27 and hence the same issue persists.

    Seriously Apple?
