Oct 6, 2015 5:56 AM in response to kali4nia85by JWYIII,I encountered the same issue last night for the first time (I've had the 6s since launch day). I have been running the latest iOS 9.0.2. The phone powered off (it was plugged in at the time this occurred to an Apple cable and an Apple plug adapter), and the home button became and remained very hot to the touch. A hard restart "fixed" the problem.

Oct 7, 2015 4:01 AM in response to kali4nia85by Sibod-The-Beed,Also had the same problem last night for the first time. The phone was not being charged and had been in my shirt pocket. There was nothing running and I had just switched WiFi off moments before. The phone screen went blank. Whilst trying to work out what had happened I noticed the home button was REALLY hot and the phone refused to switch back on until a hard reset. Had my 128GB 6S since launch day and have enjoyed it so far. Hoping this is a software fix away from being solved ! Been running 9.0.2 since available.

Oct 12, 2015 12:19 AM in response to kali4nia85by tklancer,I just woke up and went to check my phone and the same thing happened to me. The home button was very hot and I tried charging it at several spots in my house. I also had to do a hard restart and it went back to normal. I've had my phone a little over a week.

Oct 12, 2015 11:22 AM in response to tklancerby cchandl,I've had the same problem - 3 times in 2 days, even twice this morning (2nd time just a few minutes after doing the hard reset). Both recent occurrences were after updating to 9.0.2. There's another thread that seems pretty active with people reporting the same thing. Hopefully apple addresses it soon.

Oct 14, 2015 4:00 PM in response to cchandlby oharsh,I'm also running iOS 9.0.2 and I don't think this issue happened prior to updating to the current software. Hopefully Apple will fix this ASAP.

Oct 14, 2015 9:21 PM in response to oharshby cchandl,I followed apple support's worthless advice and did a full factory reset followed by a restore from backup (yesterday), but had the phone freeze again this evening and then shutdown within a minute or so. This time I had been using the phone for several minutes and just had weather underground open. It froze on the current screen followed by a black screen a minute later. The button didn't become hot, but I also didn't give it long before performing a hard reset.
Btw, I've had this on the older iOS and now on 9.0.2.

Oct 17, 2015 2:08 AM in response to kali4nia85by an_tintu,I Received my iPhone 6s plus 128 GB with a TSMC CPU last week. I experienced exactly the same behaviour as described earlier. Home button burning hot and the device off. Only way to get it on was by a hard reset.
I'm curious about the solution.
Did anybody got theirs exchanged fir a new one????

Oct 17, 2015 10:21 AM in response to an_tintuby aress393,I read about some
customers having their phone replaced forma
new one.
I am obviusly out of the 14 days so I cant get a new
one but when I asked the guy at the Apple Store
if in case of replacement I would have gotten a brand new one or a refurbished one
he said that because iphone 6s are new I will get a brand new phone as a replacement. Did anyone do that aleady ?

Oct 17, 2015 11:46 AM in response to aress393by kali4nia85,There are so many different responses to this issue. I was told to take it to the store, but I live an hour away so I wouldn't want to go and wait just to have nothing happen. I've read in the other forum: Re: My iPhone 6s home button is really hot and the device won't turn on that some people have taken the phone and the Apple store have done a diagnostic but everything was fine so Apple wouldn't replace the phone. It's all such a mish mosh of different responses. I am lucky and have only experienced the hot button issue twice. It's almost been two weeks since the last time I experienced the hot home/touch ID button.
Someone in the other forum also posted this video.
