Oct 15, 2015 2:44 PM in response to lllaassby jimfromjanesville,I am not able to run any tests as the Macbook won't boot. I have tried to reset the SMC and PRAM multiple times and nothing happens. I cannot boot to an external drive as nothing happens on attempted startup except for a 1 second whirl of the superdrive. The only way I know the fan is operating is that when I took the back cover off to remove the drive the fan was still spinning. As I said initially there is no startup chime, no screen, no anything. When this first occured the back light keys on the keyboard illuminated and the screen illuminated but with no text. If I remove the drive and put it in an external enclosure it appears to be fine and checks out fine with disk utility.
