Oct 11, 2015 3:08 AM in response to WonkieIncby Besomdave,So it appears the problem is then just between iCloud and Office/ Outlook 2016 - well that means evens even more people will be affected ( users with win 8.1 and win 10) - Therfore Apple should be taking even more notice of this.
I agree with richarc123's comment that its time to take this to magazines both online and printed.
Apple take note - This is a major headache for a lot of people. Please do something.
Surely someone from the support / development team there must view these forums at sometime - a responce would be welcomed.

Goto icloud.com. open your calendar and share it. It will give you a URL, that you can use to subscribe in Outlook (2016-2013-2010)
This works only for the calendar and you may not change entries in Outlook. However if you change calendar items on your iCloud-connected iOS devices, it at least reflects in Outlook.
If you are used to "sync your life" across Windows and iOS it remains more then a pain and a shame for Apple not being able to at least provide a release date for this eagerly needed fix :-(

They took it down because my comment was "nontechnical or off topic". So that's a good thing I think...at least they are monitoring so hopefully they'll get this major issue resolved ASAP so we can all go back to our synchronized lives.

Bizarrely though I had already upgraded another PC from Office 2013 to 2016 (Office 365) and the iCloud add-in still works with Outlook 2016, including the mail contacts which is what I use in the iCloud.
I've tried to establish why it worked on one upgrade but not the other, but without success. Frustratingly though it just shows that it is possible somehow or other to get the iCloud sync working with Outlook 2016 including the contacts.

The funny thing is that the native calender and mail apps (Windows 10) work perfectly fine with Apple iCloud. Just add your account data and that's it... Unfortunatley you can't handle your tasks with this workaround.

After testing a lot i had to fall back to an older image using Office 2013 instead.

I use iCloud for contacts via Outlook and soon my only recourse will be to migrate everything to Office 365 and out of iCloud if they do not fix iCloud for Windows. What a complete miss by Apple.
If Apple wants Microsoft to invest in making the Office for Mac platform better (which they have been getting better), then Apple should keep the bidirectional reciprocal partnership. Reality is, most folks use a mix of products, devices, and Operating Systems from both vendors. Consumers want to choose the best combination but if one side isn't holding up their end of the bargain, then there will be defectors. Ugh. What a shame. This used to work beautifully with Office 2013 on Windows and Outlook and now ... customers are left in limbo.
