Finally, finally, I made it to work.

    1. Backup your iPhone using iTunes. (I don't know if an encrypted backup is necessary, because my friend didn't do that but I did.)

    2. 'Erase All Content and Settings' from Settings app in your iPhone (Do NOT erase using iTunes! I've tried it and it doesn't work!)

    3. 'Erase All Content and Settings' on your Apple Watch Settings app.

    4. Restore your iPhone from backup using iTunes

    5. Pair your iPhone with your Apple Watch.

Everything should work as you expect.

    Good Luck.

Back2mach's solution totally worked! I spoke with two apple support staff online and was about to take my watch in to the apple store to demand a replacement, but this totally fixed it. Thank you SOO much

    Hi there Biransider,

It sounds like none of the Apple apps are loading for you at all on your Apple Watch. I would suggest also taking a look at the information in the following article which addresses unexpected behavior with apps on an Apple Watch, named:

Get help with apps on your Apple Watch

    This section in particular:

If an app won't open or unexpectedly quits in watchOS 2

    1. Try to open the app again after each step:
    2. Place your Apple Watch on its charger, and connect your iPhone to power.
    3. On your iPhone, open the Music app and play a song.
    4. Open the Watch app on your iPhone, scroll down to the app that won't open, tap it, and turn Show App on Apple Watch off, then back on. Repeat this step to re-install any apps that won't open.

If you still can't open an app, unpair your Apple Watch and iPhone, then pair again.

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.

I was about to wipe my iPhone out but first I deleted my Music from my iPhone, made back up in iCloud, iTunes Encrypted and in the middle of process of extracting apps with iMazing and as magic, with no reset it started working.

Could you explain how you did all this in a little more detail?

I went to an Apple Store to take my Apple watch and they told me that the problem was with my iPhone and i had to wipe it.

1.- Detete all Music from Settings>General>Usage>Mage Usage>Music>Edit>Delete all songs

2.- Made an iCloud Back Up

3.- Made an iTunes Encrypted Back Up

4.- Extract APPS from iPhone with iMazing and in the middle of the process of extraction the apps started working in my Apple Watch.

NOTE: STEP 4 I DONT THINK IS TOO IMPORTANT FOR THE PROCESS

PD: BEFORE EVERYTHING I UNPAIRED MY APPLE WATCH FROM MY IPHONE AND PAIRED IT AGAIN THEN THE STEPS PREVIOUSLY MENTIONED

This worked for me! Thank you so much! You were right though, iMazing is not necessary for the process.

baba19981's solution worked for me too. Interestingly enough, back2mach's solution didn't work. I'll explain.

First of all, the problem with native apps is all about iPhone, not watch itself. It has something to do with content on iPhone.

My first steps (even before I found this topic) was:

    • reinstall native apps
    • reboot the watch
    • erase all content and settings of the watch

    None of them worked.

Then I found this topic and tried back2mach's solution (https://discussions.apple.com/message/28960370#28960370). I erased all content and settings of the iPhone. Then, before I restored the iPhone from backup, I tried to install one of them native apps, Facebook Messenger. And it worked! Maybe not right away, but after one simple reinstall it worked on the watch for sure. But _after_ I restored the iPhone from backup and therefore paired the watch again native apps again stopped working!!

That's how I found out that the problem is with backup, or rather with _content_ in that backup. Clean phone — apps work, restored-from-backup-phone — apps don't work.

And then I tried first three steps from baba19981's solution (https://discussions.apple.com/message/29111593#29111593). I deleted all my music from Settings > General > Usage and then made two backups, first with iCloud, second (encrypted) with iTunes. Again, I didn't do anything else, no wiping or restoring or something. I just made two backups. Then, all of a sudden, native apps started working. That's it. Thank you, baba19981.

Btw, this is a weirdest problem I had with my Apple Watch or any Apple product so far.

I'm not sure who marked this as solved, but it is not a solution at all. You'd have better luck doing a back flip with the watch around your ankle. It seems as if this issue is a known bug. I've tried this voodoo solution (which I thought was extremely weird in the first place), a hard reset, set up as new, un pair, re pair, reinstalled apps on the watch without any success. I'm currently in the process of having the watch replaced. I can't imagine it is somehow a hardware issue, but I'll update shortly.

I did just the first 2 steps of the solution and it worked.  And they started working before the iCloud backup had finished.

I'm not sure if step 1 is needed. I had never done an iCloud backup.  I wonder if anyone else with the problem ever did iCloud backups?

Holy cow. I've been trying to get several third party native apps to run on the watch for months. Removing music from the iPhone and doing backups to computer and iCloud actually worked! All my native third party apps are working.

I am in the same boat. Since iOS 2.01 launched, my native, 3rd party apps like Facebook Messenger, Apple Store, PCalc, OpenTable, Runkeeper, and itranslate have not loaded (long delays, then crash). I've tried to set up the watch and phone as new, unpair, repair, delete music, encrypt backup, reset settings, hard reset, you name it, no solution so far. I even had the watch replaced, which clearly would indicate that this is a software issue as the problem still continues to persist. I'm on iPhone 6s with 9.3 iOS, watch 2.2os. Any solutions (that actually work) would be greatly appreciated.
