Q: 30 pin to VGA adapter won't work since iOS 8

got confused about what page I was on in this thread. so I was answering an already answered post.

I do not see TV out in Settings>General.  Maybe this is an option not available outside the USA. But thanks for going to all that trouble! By the way I do get a brief VGA connection before the error message comes up on the iPad. I have just updated the IOS but no change.

I Have the same problem as every one else with the HDMI adapter (Apple product) with my iPad 4 - won't work. With our iPad Mini it DOES! Both have same update. Go figure???

There is a rumour that Apple has replaces some people's cables when taken to the apple store.

I To use mine in the classroom, it worked fine last week (only purchased my mini last week to replace my old one) really unhappy that I spent money and now it's not working. I hope this is going to be fixed ASAP.

I doubt apple will fix this.  Rumor is certain third party cables caused fires.

You need to go to an apple store to sort this out.

You may be right about Apple wanting us to buy their accessories exclusively. I would try to get theirs and see if it will work because it's cramping my style right now.

Get the Apple 30 pin>VGA lead and you will have no problems at all. I got mine second hand on eBay and by the way it works on the latest update as well.

Your Ipad VGA adapter is an Older firmware and the updated IOS doesn't support

it, you need to BUY a updated 1.0 VGA Adapter - it MUST say its a 1.0 or its the older

unit (Best buy sold me an old adapter 7/16) APPLE has the newer units for $29
