Q: ios9 update -> now touchscreen problems

Ever since I updated to ios 9, my iphone 5s touchscreen is acting crazy.  The accuracy of where I touch or slide vs. what the iphone thinks I did is completely off.  The phone seems to have a mind of its own too, it starts opening apps and stuff when I'm not even touching it.  Then other times it freezes completely for 5-10 minutes.  It is nearly impossible to shut it off because it won't swipe when I initiate the turn off screen.  The home button works fine.  Every once in a while the phone will act normal for like 15 minutes and then it goes crazy again!!  Anyone else??  This just started a couple days ago after I did the ios 9 update.

    So disappointed  with the new iOS 9.0.2 as I moved from iPhone 5s 8.4.1 JB running great no glitches, no freezes at all to an iPhone 6 running stock iOS 9.0.2. All I can see and read is people complaining with tones of bugs and even I am experiencing the annoying freeze problem. I tried everything from switching settings off, restoring, hard resetting, fresh install and nothing solved out my problem. The phone simply acts crazy on its own.

    For now the only solution I found and the phone is stable for about one hour for now, is that in settings -> general -> accessibility -> touch accommodations turned on, everything else is off. It might be a temporary fix or a permanent one. You guys should try this. In my opinion this might be blocking the force touch controls as are set to be by the user. Also handoffs and suggested apps are turned off, and the Siri suggestions are also turned off. I will guys update you soon if the phone is stable or not. I hope for quick solution. Cheers

    Yesterday I was texting.  My touchscreen froze.  Ah well, here we go again!  But then... it started typing on its own.  bb B - lots of Bs and spaces.  Fortunately, it never actually sent, but it did feel like my iPhone was possessed.  It was in this state for about a minute or two.  I suspect that the keyboard happened to be on-screen at the time the touchscreen went crazy, and that it somehow was processing phantom touches right over the b in the keyboard rather than where I was trying to touch.  If your phone has been having this issue, it might be interesting to load a keyboard and see if you see the same thing.  For now, I'm going to leave the text interface on my phone and see if it happens again.

    Out of curiosity, is anyone tweeting about this?  I'm really beginning to wonder whether we're talking to a black hole here.  Has anyone actually seen any published store about this?  Maybe we need more visibility.

    Apple doesn't actually have an official Twitter account. At this point, I'm thinking that was probably a smart choice considering the amount of backlash they would be getting after releasing this pathetic iOS. Yesterday I was looking for some sort of evidence that they are working or even acknowledging this, and I couldn't find any. As someone who has all things Apple & constantly has to get into the debate of the overpriced products, it's really sad that the multi-billion dollar company with 'overpriced' products can't even send a fledgling to lift a hand in the forum or in any sort of media to say "Hey guys! Thanks for your support we are working on fixing this for you." Their employees at the Genius Bar & at Apple Support are just as clueless as most of us are as to what is actually happening.

    Solution found. Upgrade to iPhone 6s and do not restore it from a previous backup. I was fortunate enough to be eligible for an upgrade. I'm so tied into Apple Music and iCloud, I can't imagine going to Samsung. Well played, Apple, force everyone into an upgrade.

    It wouldn't surprise me at all if this was a sneaky move by Apple to sell more 6s phones by rendering all previous models useless!

    But I'd hardly call it "well Played" HackT0se_Lamah_L33t_Sawse.

    Not only are they seriously ******* off the majority off iPhone users who don't have the latest model but their tainting their reputation for quality... whilst I would never move to Samsung, these iOS9 issues along with the lower quality build of the iPhone 6/6s range has got me thinking are Apple losing it? Since iOS9 f**ked up my iPhone 6 I've been using my old iPhone 4 and that thing is built like a tank! Sure its heavy and slow in comparison, but you can drop it, sit on it, abuse it and doesn't feel like its gona break, plus it doesn't look like every other android phone out there, which to be honest the 6 does!

    As far the "don't do a restore from a backup" is concerned, well ***!!!!!

    Thats one of reasons we love Apple isn't it?.... The "eco system", it works, its safe and convenient.

    So I spend mega bucks on a new phone and have to input each of my contacts, downloads all the apps, create mail accounts and change all the preferred settings one by one.... this could take days depending on your contact list!

    Anyway... I understand that s**t happens and some things are unforeseen and in fact I usually expect a little bugginess with new OS's, but a simple response from Apple saying they're aware and that they're fixing the issue would put all our worries at ease and restore faith in the Apple brand.

    I have this problem too.

    Phone worked fine on 8.4.1. Phone freezes and has various touch non-responsive issues now on multiple ios 9 versions. Based on the fact that ios 9 brags about new touch features, I have no doubt this is a reverse compatibility software issue. I am very unimpressed Apple.

    I have the same problem too! iPad Air 2, stock firmware, not working as good as the iOS 8.4 before, at lest for now the only one that i encounter is this extremely stupid unresponsive touch screen. I play some rhythm-based games which means that even the 0.01 sec of touch screen responsiveness is really important here. Today i just finished upgrading to iOS 9.0.2 and i really regret this action, some times the screen freezed when i play and makes me have poor performance in these rhythm-based games(Cytus, O2Jam, Love Live, OSU!). My issues is whether suddenly the screen have delay like 1 or 2 sec before my touch is processed, or maybe i have already lift my finger but the screen thinks that i still holding the touch, or even worse is completely freezed for some seconds!

    As a programmer, i may speculate that this problem can be because apple make a big change to the iOS core, since apple claims that there is a big reduction in the installed size of the operating system, and then some bugs occur there, but when i encounter that this bug is only related to the screen, i think this is also related to the system that is used to handle the 3d touch of iPhone 6s(+) and also posibly because of new API that is going to be used by iPad Pro? i don't sure but something that i am sure is this is either the problem with the OS, or the compatibility of the applications with new iOS. Maybe Apple should let us to be able to downgrade again to iOS 8 or force the application developers to fix their compatibility issues and recompile their application again, in case Apple unable to fix this issue which is really makes me mad.

    Reply me by email, Apple, if you have something to say.
