Oct 5, 2015 10:04 PM in response to gail from maineby WGrose,My iPhone 6s Plus is having the same issue. Has now locked up twice on me on 9.0.2. Home button becomes burning hot, and I have to hold down the power button/Home button to reboot the phone. I got the phone 9/25, and it was fine for a week, and then has done this twice in two days. Very peculiar.

I have the same issue and have taken my iPhone 6s back and they given me a new handset only for it to happen again.
The phone will be unresponsive and not turn on unless you do a hard or soft reset they call it and the phone will turn on but after couple of days it will come back again. This happen on 9.0.1 and then my new handset on 9.0.2
When you got your new phone did you set up as a new iPhone or restore from a backup?

Oct 12, 2015 2:25 PM in response to kwokukby kellyfromfayetteville,TThis has happened to me twice today and I have an iPhone 6 with the latest update. I have never had an issue. And both times I have had plenty of battery. I had to hold the power & home button both times to get it to work. Very frustrating and this issue has co e out of nowhere! I hope they fix it!

Oct 13, 2015 3:46 AM in response to kellyfromfayettevilleby kwokuk,Did anyone set their iPhone from new or a restore from backup?
In other forum I have notice some are not having issues after setting their phone as new and then restoring apps and data manually.
This is obviously an Apple issue and not us and Apple should addressed this issues that most of us are having.
Thanks

Oct 14, 2015 10:48 AM in response to sim61by 205alrider,This just happened to me using iPhone 6 running 9.0.2. Incident occurred today around noon CDT. Holding home & power buttons for about 20 seconds resolved my issue.

Oct 14, 2015 4:53 PM in response to 205alriderby kellyfromfayetteville,While that does resolve the issue it is quite annoying when your phone does it 6 times in the past 3 days. So each time my phone turns off I have to hold the buttons down to have it turn on, however, I don't know when it turns off, so it can be off for some time before I notice which means I am missing texts, phone calls & emails that are coming in until I go to use it and notice the phone is off.

Oct 15, 2015 10:35 PM in response to kellyfromfayettevilleby jeffthejefe,This happened to me today. Out of no where, my phone shut off by itself and never turned back on. I have taken great care of this phone so it was not my negligence that caused this malfunction. However, I was informed by the apple technician that I would have to pay 300 for a product replacement because my iphone warranty was expired. The reason it won't turn on was because of some hardware/board issue?
Never thought I would complain about Apple about their products but I guess there is a first time for everything. Let me pay that extra 300 dollars because of your malfunction to replace my phone. What a scam.
Thanks Apple

Oct 16, 2015 2:32 AM in response to sim61by rassmallai,Same thing has happened to my wifes phone. Iphone 6 plus. The phone is dead and had plenty battery life. it did come to life for about 20 seconds when we did the pressing of home and off buttons for 20 seconds. It spluttered to life and then died again and is not coming back. Going to the apple store to see what they say.

Oct 16, 2015 3:09 PM in response to sim61by aress393,Happened the same with my Iphone 6s- 64gb
All I want to know is: is this a software or a hardware problem ?
So annoying having paid my phone 1229 AUD and send it in for a replacement after just 3 weeks. And they won't even give you a brand new one but a furbished.

Oct 17, 2015 7:38 AM in response to aress393by gail from maine,And I take it you tried the reset: Hold down the Home and Power buttons at the same time and continue to hold them down until the Apple appears (up to 30 seconds)?

Oct 19, 2015 9:31 AM in response to jghby jgh,Talked to Apple support about this. Rep said to restore from iCloud (she specifically said NOT to restore from iTunes). Deleted all my songs & photos (128 model, so iCloud backup with music & photos would've taken forever). Backed up to iCloud. Restored from iCloud. This morning I overslept because, yes, my iPhone 6S was a brick. While plugged in overnight. ***. [AKA whatthe]

Oct 19, 2015 3:34 PM in response to kwokukby kwokuk,iPhone 6s / 64gb
Update:
I returned to apple store last Tuesday hoping they give me another replacement but they said no and have advise me to set my iPhone as new rather than restore from backup via iCloud or iTunes as both had cause my phone to be unresponsive.
So far since setting my phone as new my phone has not crashed/unresponsive for nearly a week. The annoying points are re-downloading my apps which did not have my preferences per app which I had to set again. Also configuring sounds on my phone. I manage to download my photos again from iCloud Photo Library by activating the option on your phone. This will only work if you have your photos in iCloud. If you don’t use iCloud then you have to back your photos before formatting your phone and setting your phone up as new. You then need to copy the photos back to your phone. Its best if you have it in iCloud then you can download straight back to your phone.
This is still an Apple issue and not us as their selling point is to back your data to iCloud and then restore this onto your new phone but this does not work for many of us. I shouldn’t need to set my phone as new I should be able to restore this from iCloud.
Hope this update helps.
Thanks
