Q: Magic Trackpad will not connect

I have OS X Yosemite 10.10.5
Mac Book Pro Retina Early 201

Just purchased a new Magic Trackpad .

Can only use when connected via USB / lighting cable.
When connected this way I can only use it like a standard mouse.  No gestures.

Will not discover when trying to connect as via bluetooth.

Cheers

    Hi Joshua,

I'm sorry to hear you are having these issues with your new Magic Trackpad 2. It looks like the model year of your MacBook Pro Retina was a bit cut off in your post (could be either an Early 2013 or an Early 2015), but based on the OS you listed you should be aware that the system requirements for the Magic Trackpad 2 are listed as:

    System Requirements

Bluetooth 4.0-enabled Mac computer with OS X v10.11 or later

    Magic Trackpad 2 - Apple

You may want to see if it works as expected under El Capitan, either on your machine or on another if you are holding off on upgrading for the moment.

    Cheers
