Q: Remove an update from the App Store

There is an update for iPhoto in my App Store updates.  But I no longer have iPhoto, I have the newer Photos app.  If I click on the update button, I get a message that says "This item is temporarily unavailable."  How can I remove the update from the list of updates in the App Store?

    Hi jla930,

Thanks for using the Apple Support Communities. I apologize for any confusion; even after you upgrade to Photos, iPhoto should still be on your computer in the Application folder, as noted in this article:

Using iPhoto and Aperture after you migrate to Photos

iPhoto — and Aperture, if you downloaded it — remains on your system in the Applications folder, and you can continue to use it. If you open iPhoto or Aperture after you upgrade to Photos, you’ll be asked if you want to open your library there or in Photos.

Any changes or edits you make in iPhoto or Aperture aren't reflected in Photos. And any changes or edits you make in Photos will not be reflected in iPhoto or Aperture.
