I understand that you are having difficulties backing up your iPhone to iCloud. You mention that you have the full 5GB of iCloud storage available; are you receiving an error that refers to available space?
The following article has a lot of great troubleshooting if you are unable to create a backup in iCloud.

yes I'm getting the error that "iCloud couldn't back up at this time due to no space availabl. When I click on manage storage it shows that there isn't any data available to back up. I have had iPhones for years and have never had this problem until the IOS 9.0.2 update.
please advise how this is fixed.
