Q: family sharing - Adding member with just a debit card?

As I understand, there si no chance to begin Family Sharing without a credit card. We usually use debit cards and I see no reason to have a credit card thus I can't open iCloud accounts for my kids.

Is this true and can anyone confirm there's no other way?

Thanks

Ondrej

No. There is no other way. In order to electronically consent to permitting a child to use online services that may collect data, proof of age is required under US law. Since Apple is a US company, they must comply with this law. A debit card can not be used as a legal method of doing so. A credit card can.

If you have a valid credit card, you can use that, then switch the payment method back to your debit card if you wish.

Thanks a lot. So I'll have to check if some of my cards isn't actually a credit card...
