Q: rMBP 2015 Wake Reason: ARPT (Network)

I can't seem to find out what is waking my Mac up so much. Battery life on standby is terrible. Snippet from running "syslog | grep -i "Wake reason"" through Terminal:

Can't seem to find out the issue via Google. I have extensively searched.

Appreciate any help.

P.S. this is a duplicate from rMBP 2015 10.10.3 Wake Reason: ARPT (Network). I do not know how it ended up in the OS X Mavericks section because I clearly remembered choosing Yosemite from the dropdown list. Anyhow, that one is closed and I would appreciate any help I can get from this section of the forum.

Thanks.

MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch,Early 2015), OS X Yosemite (10.10.3)

Went to the apple store... they did the hardware test. Nothing is wrong.

It only happens on my home router. It slept fine at the apple store. To me this means they never are going to fix/address the issues.

the test given to my mac took almost 20 minutes. Not only just use a online diagnosis. Maybe you should try again cause this was my second time in genius bar about this problem

I'm having the same issue and it only shows up at home where I have an Arris router provided by Time Warner. I've looked through the router settings and nothing seems out of place.

I got mine retina Macbook Pro 13" 2015 completely replaced with new one and issue still persist. This IS NOT hardware based problem.

EDIT: I'm also 100% sure this is SW based issue due come MacBooks start waking by themselves after upgrading to OSX El Capitan. I've had this issue from Yosemite w/ rMBP 13" 2015 version what is replaced with a new one once. Still performing this waking issue after upgrading to El Capitan with this new unit. Only fix at the moment is disable wi-fi before sleeping the macbook.

I've spoken several times with a Finnish AppleCare Senior Advisor and after 29 of September he did not anymore respond to my emails. I've sent some logs for Apple Engineers but never got answer from them what is causing this issue. ******* 1600€ machine waking itself and burning battery 100% to 0% during night. I already switched back to Android from iOS and I'm pretty sure I'm gonna leave OSX also...

Sigh... When will Apple notice this problem. It only happened for the BDW-based laptops.

Same problem here. Now the only "solution" is to disable wifi before turning the labtop into sleep or reinstall the system. I would just disable my wifi for now. Hopefully, Apple will have the real solution soon

I have had a little bit of free time the last week so I haven't used my rMBP 15" 2015 that often. I put it down to charge on thursday and unplugged it without turning off the wifi. Just opened it for the first time since then and it has 91% battery. Seems like the issue is partially solved for me?

Syslog still spits out wake reasons almost every 10 minutes with the occasional ARPT one.

From line 1 to line 6, we can see that the system was reporting to hibernate, which is expected, however on line 7, the evil 'BSSID changed' line appeared and sent system a wake request. Start from line 8 is the normal wake up log, nothing abnormal.

I'd suggest you guys look into the detailed log, not just focus on "Wake reason" lines because these line cannot provide much information.

    Hope this helps.

Hi, this thread has been quiet for a long time,

I just want to know if the problem has got a solution, or if it's just that everyone has finally lost faith in Apple Support Forum.....

    I surely hope it's the former T_T.

Or maybe everyone of us has adopted a different partial solution? What is yours?

Mid 2015 mac pro retina. Latest Elcapitan update 100% solved the issue.

If you have other wake reasons (bluetooth, etc) it's going to be another solution. But the original Wake on excessive wake is 100% fixed with the latest OS.

Nope the non beta. Just the latest update via app store. This fixed the "wake.on excessive wake" issue for me. I do not have any other information about other wake reasons.

If so, that's good for you. It doesn't solve mine though. I am looking forward to the .2 update one of whose focus areas is said to be wifi.
