Oct 18, 2015 12:03 PM in response to D.Cohenby Savandra,I tried all of these approaches and am stuck in a feedback loop.
I was updating my iPad to new iOS and update did not complete. Then it showed the iTunes logo with cord so I plugged into my computer, a new MacBook Retina Pro, and no matter what I do I get 1671 error code.
According to Systems Preferences, I have no firewall turned on.
Here is what happens, step by step:
I click "Restore."
I click "Restore and Update."
I click "Next."
I click "OK" and here is where it remains stuck:
If I click "Eject iPad..." nothing happens. If I plug it back in, the whole process starts over again from the beginning. It's maddening.
Can you please help me?
Thanks so much!

Oct 18, 2015 12:07 PM in response to Savandraby Savandra,BTW, I originally was simply trying to update my iPad iOS via Wifi, when the updating was interrupted.
Is my computer actually still 'currently downloading software for the iPad' ??

Oct 23, 2015 11:21 AM in response to Savandraby samiculture,My son put wrong code for the iphone so many times that it requires me to connect through itunes to restore it. When I connect it requires an update to, stupid system if you ask me, and the update does not work and I go through same procedure as you. And every time the message comes the iphone jumps out from the recovery mode.
I don´t know about you guys, but I am getting pretty close to insane because of this ****. I use Apple computer too, so I don´t use any kind of firewall, anti virus etc.
