Q: How to delete unwanted films/TV Progs/ Music videos from iPad

I have some videos of all three sorts on my new iPad inherited from my old one. How do I get rid of these?

I went to this Apple support article but I don't have an Edit option on my screen (IOS 9)

iPad Air Wi-Fi, iOS 9.0.2

    Hi Daveypez,

Are the items stored in the cloud. Is there a little cloud icon on the items?

if not you may need to use iTunes on a computer to remove the items.

    Hope this helps!

Do the videos have a cloud icon in the lower right corner of their icons? If they do have the cloud icon, that means that they are not on the iPad and therefore can not be deleted. Go to Settings>Videos>Show iTunes Purchases>Off.

Thanks Demo - that got me half way there. All of them have gone from the iPad except one under Films. I still can't find a way of getting rid of that.

jonty_b   I'd be quite happy to use either iPad or iMac to dispose of it.

If you still have one left that can't be deleted, it may be that the last film is partially downloaded and has to finish downloading before it can be deleted.

If you had tapped on a video that has the cloud icon on it and began watching the movie, that started the film to download to the device. That particular video will now be in limbo. You will have to finish downloading it and then delete it.

Could that be what happened here?

That was it - I scrubbed through to the end of the film and then when I went back to the Videos folder the Edit option was there so I could delete it.

So nice to be rid of it!

Thanks for your prompt help Demo
