Oct 18, 2015 12:55 PM in response to Uwe Grunewaldby WonkieInc,IIt's more than just fresh installs. One of the main causes is that iCloud for windows is looking for the registry key and program files for Office2013. Another possible issue, is that caldav and carddav are no longer supported in Office 2016. I'm not sure how that technical hurdle can be overcome, but I know it's possible. Google does it with GASMO.

Oct 18, 2015 11:53 PM in response to WonkieIncby Uwe Grunewald,@ WonkieInc as much as I understand, iCloud for Windows handles the CardDav/CalDav updates. It is not necessary, that Outlook supports CalDav/CardDav. If it would, iCloud for Windows would not be required. If the Regkey would be known, we could possibly change it and iCloud 4.1 would run? Eventually???

Oct 19, 2015 3:29 AM in response to Uwe Grunewaldby WonkieInc,WWell that would make sense. I just know that 2013 technically can do everything that icloud for windows does, without the application. It's just a little more setup, especially if you use two factor authentication.
With the registry key thing, well kinda. You'd have to somehow make it find both the new 2016 reg key, and the outlook profile reg key, with it still thinking it's 2013. I'm not sure how you'd do that, but it shouldn't be hard for apple to fix once they take a look at it

Oct 19, 2015 8:54 AM in response to richard0383by RCW600,I think I have found a fix to this. After reading that Apple had said iCloud isn't currently compatible with Windows 10, I thought maybe the issue isn't with Outlook 2016 compatibility but with Windows (even though the app appears to run OK in Windows 10). So I decided to run iCloud in Windows 8 compatibility mode. After logging out and back in it then let me configure it for Outlook, and now I can see iCloud calendar and contacts in Outlook 2016 (on Windows 10). Hurrah!
Hope this works for everyone else!

Oct 19, 2015 9:04 AM in response to RCW600by Uwe Grunewald,Bummer! @ RCW600could you explain in more details what exactly you did/how you did it? So to speak "for dummies" (like me;-)

Oct 19, 2015 9:22 AM in response to Uwe Grunewaldby RCW600,Hi. There is probably more than one way to do it, but what I did was as follows:
First you need to place a shortcut for iCloud on your taskbar, by right-clicking iCloud on the apps list in Start and selecting 'pin to taskbar'. Then right-click the taskbar shortcut and right-click again on iCloud on the pop-up that appears. Select 'Properties'. Then click on the Compatibility Tab, and under Compatibilty Mode tick the checkbox. In the dropdown list I think Windows 8 will already be selected, but if not then select it from the list. Then click OK, and that's it. Left click on the taskbar shortcut again and iCloud should open in compatibilty mode (it doesn't look any different). Hopefully you can now tick the Contacts/Calendars box and after clicking Apply it should set up OK. Re-start Outlook and hopefully you'll see your iCloud calendars and contacts. Mine is still working fine after a computer restart so it seems to be a fix until Apple updates the app.

Thanks for the tip, but it did'nt work. At least for me. :-( Tried everything. All I got is this annoying message to "repair iCloud".
By the way: Save your time checking out "Open Protocol Connector". It seems to be worthless for our needs. It synchronises automatically only one way from Outlook 2016 to iCloud - not the other way round. Although there is a chance to force an update with a button called "Reset from Server" it is really inconventient and takes a lot of time. Another button called "Update Folders" seems to be broken using Outlook 2016 and/or Windows 10.
Nevertheless, if you are willing to give it a try use these URLs and ports:
caldav.icloud.com (for calender)
SSL, Port: 443
contacts.icloud.com (for contacts)
SSL, Port: 443
Best regards
Pit

Oct 19, 2015 9:45 AM in response to RCW600by Besomdave,I tried as you stated using the win 8 compatibility mode, but i had to reinstall icloud as i had removed it a couple of weeks ago when i first noticed problems with it and outlook. After re-installing I got the normal pane - but the top section now has a banner stating :
'You can access Mail, Contacts, Calenders and Reminders at iCloud.com'
So it didnt work for me.
Thanks for the heads up anyway.
Back to pestering Apple for a solution then !

Oct 19, 2015 9:48 AM in response to Uwe Grunewaldby RCW600,That's disappointing. I was having the exact same problem as everyone else (asking to do a repair which doesn't work) until I tried compatibility mode. Just to be clear I am using Windows 10 Pro and Office 2016 (via Office 365).

Oct 19, 2015 9:56 AM in response to RCW600by Besomdave,Im using Widows 10 Home with Office 2016 (via Office 365)
Might be something to do with the windows version.

Oct 19, 2015 10:33 AM in response to Besomdaveby supersparksteve,Mine is working fine, W10 64 bit updated from 8.1, Home 365 Office updated to 2016.
I have not touched iCloud, but in iCloud I only sync Mail, Calendar, Tasks and Reminders, I don't sync anything else.
