Oct 19, 2015 9:39 AM in response to 34787Appleby babowa,Please explain what you mean by "home page" - this is an iMac, right? Are you referring to your Desktop (Finder)?
Exactly what is the problem? Can you boot up? What happens when you try?
Or are you referring to your browser's home page?

Oct 19, 2015 9:56 AM in response to babowaby 34787Apple,Yes its an iMac. It wont even boot up.
when i turn it on the apple appears then the user and enter password box appears. When i enter the password a box pops up saying "Your home folder, which is protected by FileVault, didn't open. It needs to be repaired." Also says "To repair the folder and continue logging in, click OK."
When I click ok a box comes back saying "You are unable to log in to the user account ------- at this time - Logging in to the account failed because an error occurred." Clicking ok returns to the sign in with password screen.

Oct 19, 2015 10:14 AM in response to 34787Appleby babowa,So you enabled Filevault - I don't use it, so I can't help here. While you're waiting for someone else to chime in, see if anything here will help:

Oct 19, 2015 10:52 AM in response to 34787Appleby babowa,Well, this much I know: when you set up FileVault, you put in a password - which may be what you need now. If your friends did that without getting your permission, then I'd ask them to fix it.
