Apple only offers the most current OS version for installation from the Mac App Store.
If you did download the installer, then it will Appear in your Purchased section of the Mac App Store, and can be downloaded again.

You were never promised this could be done. It would be deceiving if they some how led you to believe it would be possible. But nowhere is it ever even implied that this can be done.
Also what other company provides access to older operating systems for download directly?
Microsoft? I doubt it.

Apple does not seem to think of the user in these policies.Let me explain:
Since not all software can keep up ponctually with the updates (it's a lot of work)
I would gladly pay to have access to a platform that works with what I use.
There is a solution, I have found it, but Apple prevents me from using it, and for what motive?
I buy my software (including apple) and would eventually get Yosemite (once everyone catch up).
Simple accomodation that would denote respect to the users
