Oct 20, 2015 7:10 AM in response to SteveW25561by DB48,We agree, well thought out solution. This is why we have the same account too. Plus we have been Apple users for so long (owned the original Mac back in the day....30 years ago almost!). Apple did not give everyone different accounts, so we HAD to have the same account back then. Now, they are not taking that into account and making adjustments. It doesn't seem like it would be that big of a deal to share the photos.

Oct 20, 2015 12:31 PM in response to Ryszby SteveW25561,Yes, photos are shareable via Family sharing but you have to manually select then share the photos to the shared album. Our goal in our family is to automatically pool all photos taken to the same photo library. Manually sharing photos invariably is forgotten, and is inconvenient especially when there are automated options.
We all know sharing apple IDs isn't optimal, and yes, this is a band aid and not the intended use, but this seems the only way to achieve what I think is a reasonable and common use case and a desirable feature.

Oct 22, 2015 5:00 AM in response to SteveW25561by Drewzers,Same thing here Steve. But of course people will continue to say "don't use the same apple ID... yada yada yada". Apparently they don't understand that family share is severely lacking in that sense and is NOT a solution. Pretty sad implementation if you ask me. It seems family share is only meant really to share content purchases.

Oct 24, 2015 12:46 AM in response to Drewzersby SteveW25561,For us, it appears the iOS 9.1 has solved the issue: I turned iCloud Drive back on my wife's phone and after a few tests that previously failed, we're not seeing each other's call log.
Hoooray!! I hope this is a true fix and it sticks. I'll keep my fingers crossed and see how the next few days goes.
Regardless, I hope Apple offers additional sharing features for family share groups so we won't have to rely on bandaids or oversights in the feature set.
Does 9.1 fix the issue for others? -
Oct 24, 2015 2:48 AM in response to ifatby Briansyddall,Hi
Stop sharing the same Apple ID since ios 8.00 data is sent to all Apple devices
with the same Apple ID when near your home WiFi
Change one ID .
Cheers
Brian (UK )
This is so that one person gets all the infomation on all apple devices
With the same id but each person needs own apple ID .

Nov 4, 2015 8:32 AM in response to SteveW25561by nbren,I thought 9.1 may have solved the issue for me, but today it has started synchronising again across all devices. Not sure why it stopped, maybe it didn't, just that I replaced my work phone with a new one, so maybe it didn't realise straight away.
I find people's 'use different IDs' particularly irritating and entirely unhelpful (maybe even irrelevant), as I am using the same ID on my personal iPhone as well as my work iPhone, so both IDs are mine, so why should I use different ones. I need to see my content on my Apple ID, not have these separated, even if people want to share IDs with spouses, what's that got to do with anyone else. The reason I don't want calls syncronising is that I need to know which phone people have called so I can call them back on the same phone. Syncronising missed calls should be optional, as it really isn't helpful.

Nov 13, 2015 12:21 PM in response to SteveW25561by Tlursen,I 100% agree with you. I am currently on the phone with apple support and I am getting no where. They are just pusing to have everyone create their own account and/or do the family share plan. Like you the main reason I will not do the family share plan is that we all want access to the photostream. I also want to be able to use the full storage plan of the primary user and have the backups on that icloud plan. As I typed this I unsuccessfully completed the call to apple support getting nowhere. I don't think I need iCloud drive as I'm not even sure what it is. When I looked it was highlighed and it just looked like unnecessary apps are backingup to it. I have 5 phones (3kids, my dad, and myself) that use and like the account and my dad LOVES watching what the kids and I are up too so I do not want to give up photostream. I will try this suggestion at home tonight when everyone is with me and see if it helps. THANK YOU and if they do come out with a update, or something to click on/off or follow your suggestion and move the synced device to the allow calls on other devices area please send me an update if possible.

Nov 14, 2015 5:30 AM in response to Mark Smuckerby LynnaBoyes ,My phone and my husbands phone starting doing the same thing when we upgrade to 9.01...I disabled FaceTime on both phones...didn't solve problem...I disabled Handoff on both phones...didn't solve problem....This morning I disabled Clouddrive on both phones and cleared both our caller histories....If this doesn't work all that is left to do is either wait for a fix from Apple or create separate accounts which is gonna be a pain in the butt! I'll let you know if my last attempt to stop this madness works

Nov 15, 2015 5:58 AM in response to LynnaBoyesby LynnaBoyes ,Here's my update.....shutting off iclouddrive and clearing call history on both phones worked!!!!

Nov 15, 2015 12:58 PM in response to ifatby DB48,SOLUTION: Well this is what worked for us. Go to settings on your iPhone and iPad, then phone, then turn off "calls on other devices". Also under Messages, turn on iMessage, but look under "text message forwarding" and make sure only one phone is listed. Then double check under "Send and Receive" that only the one phone you want is checked. It seemed like the update automatically included both of our numbers in all of these settings. Once we changed this setting, we stopped getting double calls and messages. It's a shame that Apple support can't even figure out what is causing these double messages when it is a settings issue.

Nov 15, 2015 1:27 PM in response to Briansyddallby Drewzers,Respectfully Brian, please no longer reply to this thread. I understand you live by the books. Unfortunately for some of us, family share is not even an option. It does not address at all some of our use cases, I can't speak for everyone. For instance, the guy who has a work and personal cell but uses the same apple id. Is he suppose to use two apple id's? I think everyone would agree that it a little ridiculous.
As for why we continue to talk about this, have you every modified anything in your life? Or do you take your car to the dealership for absolutely every thing? Even an oil change?I honestly have no idea what kind of satisfaction you get from constantly saying "you're doing it wrong" after almost every post made here. All we're doing is trying to help one another achieve the same slight modification that we previously had. There's nothing wrong with that.

Nov 15, 2015 1:41 PM in response to Drewzersby KiltedTim,"Respectfully", Drewzers, pay attention. Your hypothetical situation has NOTHING to do with the topic of this thread. This thread is about multiple people sharing the same Apple ID. It is NOT about a single person with multiple devices.
Start your own thread if that's what your problem is instead of attempting to hijack one that is completely unrelated to your problem.
