Q: Since installing El Capitan I cannot save documents scanned on my HP Officejet 6700

I have an iMac 27 late 2014 with El Capitan installed. Since installing it I cannot save documents which I scanned using my HP Officejet 6700. Why

Which app do you use to Scan and what happens when you attempt to save a scanned file?

Please answer both questions, be as specific as you can please.

I deinstalled the HP Officejet 6700 software and reinstalled it.
I am using HP Utility which recognizes HP Officejet 6700 and reports on its status
I then use HP Scan and it successfully scans the document
When I want to save the document a message comes up that the document could not be saved without an explanation why

HP's software is aweful at best. I would strongly recommend that you use Image Capture, this app is already pre-installed on your iMac. Assuming your device's scanner is supported by El Capitan (HP provides the drivers, not Apple). If you are not familiar with IC then please read over

This solved my problem. I can again save my scanned documents
