Q: iOS 9 Siri does NOT beep.

I upgraded to iOS 9 and if I hold the home button, Siri does not beep and I feel vibrations. And the sound appears only if I change in Siri´s volume settings the speaker to iPhone or if I swtich off vibrations, but then I don´t have vibrations. I tried to reinstall the software fourtimes, but nothing happens. I don´t know wat is wrong.

You are awesome and saved the day! I need the feedback beep because it's useful when you are not able to look directly at the screen to see if Siri is responding. Thank you!

So we lost the entertainment of someone accidentally activating Siri in a meeting or other quiet environments? I'm all for feedback but the sound isn't necessary if it vibrates. I considered the vibration only solution to be an improvement the first time I noticed it.

They should be in your iCloud account.  I'd go to icloud.com with a computer to check, and if it's there, make an archive following these instructions:

    https://help.apple.com/icloud/#/mmfba74949

Then sync your iPhone to iCloud.

This did not work for me. I tried several languages in English and none worked. Are they going to fix this? Or just leave it? I find it very annoying.

I had this problem when I upgraded to iOS 9 on an iPhone 6 also. I fixed it as follows:

Settings > General > Accessibility > Vibration ==> set to OFF

    To maintain common vibration behaviors:

Settings > Sounds ==> set "Vibrate on Ring/Silent" to ON

Thanks to Kelleherk for the reply, I have just set up my 2014 iPhone 6-plus and this seems to work fine (Siri Bleeps on pressing the home button). Alas, I added the same settings to my partners brand new 6s iPhone and the Siri Bleeps only work when you release the home button (as opposed to pressing the home button as above)! Not bothered in the discussion if it is a bug or a feature, all I want is it to work as it always did, not in different ways depending upon what iPhone you are using.

It is the same authority you have when you state that it's "obviously" a glitch.  They are both opinions.

Finally!  Thanks.  I was so frustrated without the beep because I didn't know when to start talking, and sometimes Siri would miss the first part of what I said and I would have to start all over, or the last part of what I said, etc.  Suddenly using Siri became a LOT less useful and less nice an experience. I asked Siri why she doesn't beep anymore, and was so angry when she told me "you don't need the beep."  Yes, I darn well do, for the reasons I just mentioned.  So I started avoiding using Siri altogether.

At least make it an obvious setting and give me the option.

    FACT vs OPINION

    FACT:

FEATURES work the SAME across all devices UNLESS one is informed or a statement is made that it will only work for certain devices.  i.e. 4K photos.

BUGS are those things that work differently across all devices or differently across a single device.

ERGO - the loss of the Siri "Beep" is a bug.

FYI - on upgrading to 9.0.2, the lost Beep on my 6 plus amazingly reappeared.  The wife's 5S was never lost.

I definitely think its a bug. I also find it strange that Siri doesn't speak back at all. Is anyone else experiencing this issue????

I ask for scores, weather, send message or any other commands  and it only will display the information. Before it would say "what would you like your message to say" or speak out loud in response to anything.  I found that the siri does beep back when the headphones are plugged in and you press the button from the headset to activate Siri or even the home button on the phone. But Siri will not speak out any information.

It also will beep whey you activate the "hey siri" function but will not speak out loud in that function either.

Hopefully there will be an update soon to correct these issues....

I need the beep as feedback so I do not have to take my eyes off the road when wanting to have seri make a call for me. Bring back the beep or make it a option to have it on or off.  PLEASE

    Thanks
    Dennis
