Q: undo back button

I was almost finished typing out a thoughtful, somewhat long paragraph when I accidentally tapped the back button on the left-hand side of my iPhone 6's keyboard in landscape mode, and the entire paragraph was deleted. I then tapped Undo and it just kept deleting. If that back button is going to exist in such a precarious spot, there must be a redo button. I'm not finding such a feature and am hoping to get someone's insight as to how I can get my paragraph back. Thanks much!

I had the same problem, it deleted a whole heart felt paragraph that I can't reproduce. I suppose because I typed it quickly, it figures that I didn't want any of it. This feature was an awful experience, and it is truly up there on the list of why I am going to try out Android for my next phone. Anyway, the lesson learned here is I need to shake my phone when I'm angry at it, and then it might give me the option to fix whatever may have gone wrong. Weird, but true in this case. Please remove this button, or find another way to lean towards data safety and recovery like the industry tends to do.  A Redo button would do it as the poster pointed out, or put it on the number view instead for a couple options.
