Jul 9, 2015 12:28 PM in response to ajhaukby Brian Cook4,You have to actually have already had the music synced on to your phone. I am not sure it will let you do that after the app is updated. It by default tries to drag you to iCloud so you are locked into Apple's services. Also all your play lists are probably gone, or will be soon, and home sharing is no longer an option.

Jul 9, 2015 1:38 PM in response to ajhaukby Keywal,★HelpfulOn the phone it doesn't seem very easy...
But here's an idea..
Go to iTunes on your PC/Mac and add all your tracks to a Smart playlist... (i suggest un-ticking 'match the following rule' and set the limit of songs to something huge like 50000...)
Go to the phone and make that playlist available offline by clicking the 3 dots on the right hand side.

Jul 10, 2015 4:49 AM in response to ajhaukby googhalava,That is so annoying.
Apple should better consider different use cases. I can't listen to the music from the cloud in the plane or tube no matter how badly I would like to. So why not to add an easy way to download all the music?

Jul 10, 2015 5:01 AM in response to googhalavaby KGriff,Easiest way is add all your artists (or albums) to a new playlist and then make that playlist available off line, by selecting the elipse (...) next to its title/name and selecting the menu option. It doesn't take long to do, but it depends how many artists you have in your library.
Unfortunately, i don't have the space so I'm stuck mainly with having to stream nearly everything I want to listen to.

Aug 18, 2015 5:38 AM in response to Keywalby HopeAmongstUs,I tried creating a playlist with all my music and making that available offline, but it didn't work. It started downloading the songs, but eventually began deleting what it had already downloaded as it tried to download more. This behavior led to an endless cycle and no music was available offline.

Oct 19, 2015 9:33 PM in response to ajhaukby lizziethedizzy,I absolutely DEMAND that I be allowed to keep all of MY music that I purchased fair and square from Apple on my iPhone 5s that I purchased fair and square from Apple so that I can play it whenever I want, wherever I want without wasting my data or having it randomly get interrupted in the middle of my workout because the gym at my college has terrible reception! This is MY stuff! I should be able to do this! In fact, I'm going to make it an ultimatum: either this needs to become possible RIGHT THE F*** NOW or I am switching to Android. Period, the end.

Oct 19, 2015 9:37 PM in response to lizziethedizzyby Csound1,If you are going to DEMAND, you'd better ask Apple, and check that there is enough space on your phone to accommodate your Music Library.

Oct 21, 2015 10:48 AM in response to Csound1by lizziethedizzy,*shrug* I got a little ******, it happens. I had no idea this was even a thing when I got a new iPhone recently; if I had, I'd've stuck with my old iPhone 4. I mean seriously, Apple? Seriously? This is such BS.
And yes, there is definitely enough space on my phone. It fit on my old one just fine.

If you want the music on your device you can turn off music match iCloud and copy the music from your PC/Mac library to your device over a cable using iTunes. If you want to use icloud then you need a music match annual subscription to view the DRM-free tracks on your iphone or iPad devices etc. This is mainly for non iTunes purchased tracks, but there is a limit of 25000 tracks. Another way to get access to your music albeit with DRM added to the tracks on your device(s) is a monthly subscription to Apple Music.
So you have three methods to get all your music on all your devices:
1. No iCloud (iTunes Match) and no Apple Music subscription ... Turn off the cloud and copy music to your device (this is free but time consuming).
2. iTunes Match Annual Subscription .. All your music on all devices DRM free.
3. Apple Music monthly subscription... All your music and most of the iTunes music with DRM included on all your devices.
The way you go about it, is upto you.
I personally prefer method 2 above as i like to own my own music rather than hiring/renting it on a monthly 'lifetime' contract.

Oct 21, 2015 10:18 PM in response to KGriffby lizziethedizzy,Thanks KGriff! I actually did manage to make it work without any of those things. Basically, I unsynced all my music, performed a hard reset (home+power), and then resynced it all. I'm not sure the hard reset was completely necessary, but it worked. From now on, I guess this is what I'll do. It's a bit ridiculous, though. As I mentioned, I bought both the phone and the music fair and square. None of these... gadget gymnastics should be necessary.

Oct 23, 2015 10:28 AM in response to lizziethedizzyby Deeitz,Just a comment. I just did this on my 6 and it should work on the others. On my phone I went to ITunes Store - More (...) - Purchased - Music - Not on this phone - All Songs - Download all. Hope that helps.
