Q: Mac photos app: no sync to iPhone

I´m using now the photos app on my macbook pro and activated iCloud-Library on my iPhone. All my iPhone pictures are synced to my macbook. I added some pictures to the photos app on my macbook but they won´t appear on my iphone, but deleting pictures in the photos app will delete pictures on my iPhone... any idea?

thanks, jens

    Hi!

    thanks for your reply.

Mac: I switched on iCloud Photo Library and iCloud Photo Sharing

iPhone: I switsched on iCould Photo Library and and iCloud Photo Sharing

Photos app: Import: I switched off "copy objects to photo library"

**** it, that´s what I missed... I thought when adding pictures to my photos app they´ll automatically be added to my photos on the iPhone via the iCloud.

I wanted to keep the folder structure on my mac.

    best regards

That is strongly not recommended as Photos does not have adequate tools to manage a referenced library and using one has no advantages and stores up many problems for the future - and referenced photos can not be used with iCloud Photo Library  --  for more discussion on referenced libraries see iPhoto and File Management which is about iPHoto but pretty much applies to Photos too with Photos having the added issue of not being able to use ICPL
