Exact same thing for me. None of the supported apps allow me to use split screen. The second app only appears in the right 1/4 to 1/3 of the screen. So bar to move ot to center.

I have iPad air 2 and although I can swipe across most apps from the right, I cannot get ANY combination of apps to run 50/50...there is simply no bar to grab ?

any ideas anyone? It's driving me mad! I've been hoping for this feature for ages! I have watched several YouTube videos showing exactly what to do but when I do it the little grab bar is missing

Same problems here. I Have an iPad Mini 2. Can get the 1/4 screen to work, but not the 50/50. These are all native apps that supposedly support split views. The problem of the 1/4 screen is that once you click the main app, the second app goes away. This smells like a bug.

As pointed out previously in this thread:

    1. Picture in Picture and Slide Over are available on iPad Pro, iPad Air or later, and iPad mini 2 or later. Split View is available on iPad Pro, iPad Air 2, and iPad mini 4.

    http://www.apple.com/ios/whats-new/

50/50 Split view is not supported on an iPad Mini 2.  PiP and Slide Over yes. Split View no. So you only get the 1/4 slide over.

Exactly. AVAILABLE ON THE IPAD AIR 2.

That's what device I have but no split screen. Well, not 50/50 - The 1/4 screen works but there is no grab bar as per my previous post.

OK, then something must be wrong with mine.  I do indeed have the "thicker bar-like handle" (the user manual calls it the app divider bar), but after sliding it to the 5/50 point, it always bounces back to the 2/3 & 1/3 screen view of the two apps.  Frustrating.

Doesn't work for me.  I have Ipad Air 2.  No combo of apps works in split screen view.

Thanks. And sorry to waste everyone's keystrokes. I guess I have to read more carefully next time.

I have an iPad air 2 and all updated apps. I cannot open Pages and NUmbers in split view. If I have pages open and swipe, no numbers app is available. If I have numbers active and swipe no Pages. Are these not native apps?

The iWorks apps it appears at this moment do not support Split View. They only support Slide Over of another supported App, but themselves cannot be used as the slid over app either, only as the base app.

Whether Apple will update them to support it, only they know.

Supported apps will appear in the App list on the right pane. If they are not there, they are not supported.

Yet one more reason why iOS is useless.

I can only use split view with supported apps. What a joke.

By the way, I'm typing this on my windows laptop because the keyboard wasn't showing on the ipad. It's really unbelievable.

So you expected to use Unsupported Apps?

Or did you expect every app to magically support it?

Its a new feature, it will take a while for the App developers to implement it.

I'm fairly certain new features in other OSes aren't immediately supported on every single App on the device.

As to the keyboard, oh my god a glitch... no Windows product has ever experienced a glitch.. like ever...

Reboot the iPad and stop whining.

I Expected every app to support it, like windows has been doing for 20 years now.

THis feature is advertised as an iOS feature, when it seems to be an app feature obviously.
