Q: backing up to icloud is not working since ios9 update.

Since I have done the update, my icloud backup is not working.  When I try to force it, it says it is going to take appx 7 hours - which I am fine with as I'm doing it overnight - plugged in and connected to my WiFi - but when the morning comes, it simply says The last backup could not be completed.  This doesn't tell me if I don't have space in the cloud - though I do pay for 50GB and it says I have 30GB available!  I don't know what to do.

    Hello just_j,

     

    If I understand correctly, you are not able to make a backup of your device to iCloud. I would recommend you read this article, it should be helpful in troubleshooting your issue.

    When are Apple Specialists going to stop lying to their customers and admit that there is a huge bug in iOS 9 that was not fix with 9.0.2 like it was supposed to be. Not even the highest level engineer in tech support know of a fix and flat out say they are hoping for a fix in the next update. The backup is the least of the issues, My entire house is automated with HomeKit, and doesn't function properly do to iCloud.

    this hasn't worked for me. The phone starts to back up and then says it can't complete it. I used to back my old phone4 iOS7 with iTunes but it won't recognise my new 5s iOS9. I thought the cloud would be good.

    THere is a issue with the softwear .... I advise to call apple support

    ask for a senior advisor....unless you no how to move everything phone your phone

    plug it into the computer remove all from your phone re-download the softwear and you should be

    good to go

    Sorry, but on Monday inspent 4.5 hours online with a senior advisor, who wiped my phone and lost all of my icloud backups. Apple are honestly at a loss as to what has gone wrong

    A week ago I had to Apple about this. They still haven't fixed it. I have NO backup currently. NONE whatsoever. If I lose my phone today I LOSE IT ALL.

    I keep contacting Apple and get no response.

    Not only is this terrifying, but Apple owes me some serious refunds on this iCloud business.

     

    BTW - my phone wont let me backup to iTunes either. iTunes sees my phone as a 'new' phone and wants to wipe it when I plug it in.

    I just updated my phone to the new iOS 9.2 and have finally been able to update with iCloud.  I hope you can too
