Oct 21, 2015 6:20 PM in response to Allan Eckertby AdamSLowe,This is a known El Capitan issue according to Apple. It's a shame apple decided to focus on adding new emojis rather than fixing major bugs. (Apparently several pro audio devices have also stopped working due to El Capitan.)

Oct 23, 2015 8:05 AM in response to eduard.lukhtby eduard.lukht,★HelpfulAfter further investigation, it's not Apple who need to fix this problem after all.
In El Capitan Apple depreciated api (and I believe they have a reason to) which was used in Nikon SDK. Now Nikon have to update their tethering SDK and software developers have to implement this updated SDK.

Nov 11, 2015 10:25 AM in response to AdamSLoweby johnnyoakes,Hi, Phase One Capture One fully supports Nikon Tethering under El Capitan. I have this software but wasn't using it for tethering until El Capitan and the issue with Lightroom. I was forced to use Capture One, I'm now happy with Capture One so by dragging their feetand not anticipating the issue, Adobe have lost my loyalty and i'm now a Capture One convert.

I am in the same boat and have happily switched to Capture One for all my tethering needs.
Sorry Apple / Adobe, you snooze you lose!

Nov 27, 2015 1:14 AM in response to johnnyoakesby Aero Windwalker,Capture One really just disabled some of Nikon SDK's features such as auto focus and auto metering so it works with El Capitan. I personally wouldn't give it a thumb up.
Nikon SDK is an open source project because Nikon doesn't want to have a huge developer team behind it. If you are interesting in helping the community, hop on and improve the SDK please.

Jan 30, 2016 7:07 PM in response to eduard.lukhtby Le Calmar,It's not just Nikon. When I upgraded to El Capitan, a number of things broke, all of which related to connecting devices to my laptop and desktop, including my telescope, camera, slide scanner, and pretty much everything else that isn't sold at Staples or Best Buy. I've found workarounds for some, but not all. Some of these are fixed by disabling csrutil. Unfortunately the Nikon issue is not one of them.
