Mar 1, 2014 9:32 PM in response to Sukhchain Deolby PJ'sPal,The soft boot (home button and power button) probably works.
I just did a hard boot by turning off power to my Ipad Air.
The device time out is a USB error from what I have read.
I am guessing the Ipad air has yet to recognize the type of USB port it is connected to over the usb cable.
Rebooting by soft reboot or a hard reboot causes it to sense the USB port and adapt accordingly.
