Q: Missed Facetime Call notifications in Yosemite, even though the call was answered on iPhone

Hello,

I'm running Yosemite 10.10 on an iMac and iOS 8.1 on an iPhone 6.  I like the feature that allows you to answer an incoming iPhone call on your desktop/laptop.  However, when I receive an incoming cellular (non Facetime) call on my iPhone, and answer the call, I get a "Missed FaceTime Call" notification that appears on my iMac, even though the call was in fact answered on my iPhone.

I double checked the call log on my iPhone, and the call are correctly listed as answered "Incoming Calls" (not as incoming FaceTime calls).  For each of the correctly listed "Incoming Calls" there is a corresponding "Missed FaceTime Call" on Yosemite on my iMac.

Anyone know what's up with this or experiencing similar issues, seems bizarre that the iMac is listing successfully answered cellular calls as "Missed FaceTime Call."

Thanks!

I just resolved this problem. I went to FaceTime -> Settings -> and clicked on what was called something like "show phone calls". Unfortunatelly, I cannot remember now how exactly it was called, because after I did that, the option dissapeared. Yet, I saw for a moment phone calls from my phone, and right after that notifications dissapeared. However, now this option dissapeared too, so did phone calls. Confusing...

Okay, just solved this through some headache. First of all I'm in El Capitan right now but I tried it on a Yosemite machine and it worked so here goes:

First open up FaceTime on the mac. Even if you're all clear, you're not.

Go to "Preferences..." then enable "Calls From iPhone" and "You can be reached for FaceTime at:" and tick your phone number.

Even if you've cleared all your missed calls from your phone, sometimes, the list will magically appear on your FaceTime application on your computer.

As such, clear this list and the badge will disappear.

Once done, you can go and uncheck the "Calls From iPhone" and stuff and you should be done.

Hope I've been of some help.

    Hi x838nwy,

    Where did you go "Preferences..."

I'm having the same problem, I see 2 notifications of missed FaceTime calls but nothing there. It's only on my Macbook Pro. my other devices are fine.

I want to see if your fix works

Run the FaceTime app on your mac.

Next to the apple symbol on the top left hand corner, click on "FaceTime".

Select "Preferences..." it should be like the 3rd item down the list or something.

    Hi X838nwy,

    Thank you for that.

Are we suppose to check or uncheck the phone number. The reason why I ask is because if I uncheck my phone number does that mean when a FaceTime call comes in it wouldn't call in over all my devices, iPhone, iPad and MacBook Pro?

    Thanks

Open FaceTime -  tap Audio and delete contact list. Seems to happen if phonecalls are synced with iPad and a call is missed

lots of good tips in this thread, here is what I found:

    1. missed calls are displayed with red number on the FaceTime app icon on MAC OSX

    2. unchecking cell phone number in FaceTime preferences only removes ability to make/receive FaceTime calls VIA cell phone number.

    3. Calls from iPhone option turns the feature on/off

My issue was i didn't want to see the notification on the app icon in OSX. "My fix" was to go into FaceTime app on my iPhone and clear recent calls, as soon as the calls were cleared the notification on the app icon in OSX was cleared... As I don't want to receive calls from facetime on my mac i turned off the "Calls from IPhone" option and unchecked my cell number in the preferences in the FaceTime app IN OSX.

    Hope this helps...
