Q: Apple Music not working on iPhone 6 after iOS 9.1

I foolishly updated both iPhone 6 and iPad Mini with the new iOS 9.1 on the day of release, and spent all day yesterday trying to make Apple Music work. around 11pm, it finally worked on my iPad after login/signing on and off for a few hours, today it shows everything fine, but don't play anything. After communicating with Apple Music Help on Twitter I decided to re-install it all on the iPhone 6, hours of the signing on and off frozen, Apple Music on the phone shows For You, New and Connect OK, but won't play, Radio doesn't load at all and My Music is empty, not linking to my Music Match on ICloud. Now (Saturday 16:26), I can only listen to my music and Beats 1 from my main MacBook Pro... I definitely think this iOS 9.1 is a massive mistake. I am trying to reset my iPhone from scratch as I type this, backing it up from the Cloud from 3 days ago, but I launched this 1 hour ago and it still does nothing.... Not very convenient to do the Beats Run tomorrow if I need to png in my laptop in a rucksack as no small device is usable.

MacBookPro, Mac OS X (10.6.2)

Not a fix, but a work around. I've found that if you just turn your device off and on again, Apple Music will work. You'll get a notification saying "unable to purchase song X."

I've been doing this on my iPhone and iPad for the past two days since updating to iOS 9.1

I really hope a fix is coming soon....

    Hope this helps!

OK.. it didn't fix mine either. I reset my network settings after chatting with apple support. I've found what works for me is that if you keep Apple Music open (not force closing it) it works fine for me.

I have a 5S and and iPad Air. As of now, both are working for me.

I was on hold with Apple Support and the communication cut. How do you reset your network settings? I will try that whilst I am waiting for Apple to hopefully call again.

Settings > General > Reset (all the way at the bottom) > Reset Network Settings

Did that, on both iPhone and iPad, Apple Music on iPhone still not responding at all. on iPad, the option in Settings ICloud Music Library doesn't stay on, so my iCloud Music Library has gone. Talked to Apple they have no clue, could only schedule an appointment in my local store next saturday (no slot available before that), so, complete disaster all around. I was selected to do the Beats 1 Run tonight, but without listening to the show at the same time, I am not going to bother! So much for iOS 9.1! Now, I will wait a good week of other people having trouble before I will do any IOS updates... Luckily my MacBook is not affected...

Thanks for your help anyway... :-)

I have had the same problem since updating. After restarting my phone, repeatedly for two days, Apple music has started to work again. You need a lot of patience for this bug.

Same here. Have tried so many things and been speaking to support all yesterday and today but no resolution. It's driving me crazy.

Well now the problem seems to be getting worse on my end. My lap top won't stream songs and now my iDevices won't even respond. I keep getting asked to join apple music after a few minutes of nothing. Obviously I'm already a subscriber.

Also, I can't view my Apple ID under the settings app. Something seriously messed up with this update. I hope Apple is on top of this.

Hi guys. Im from Brasil and i have the same here. My Apple Music doesnt load any song, my library is gone and i can't log The session with my Apple ID.

My iPhone 6 doesn't load any playlist too. My Mac is fine. I though that only me is passing through this but now I can see more people with the same problem :/

ps. I did the on/off iPhone and Apple Music back to work but only a few songs... And yes, I updated my device to iOS 9.1 and this is a mess! I hope Apple can fix it soon.

THANKS FOR SAVING MY LIFE! hahaha

regards! And sorry my English typo.

So, I've just plugged both of my devices into my pc. Backed them up and completely restored them. All appears to be working fine after downloading ios 9.1 through itunes. My iTunes Match library is gone, but streaming appears to be back.

I don't know... Maybe this fix won't last either.

    Best of luck all.

I am having the exact same issues with my iPhone 6 Plus after updating to iOS 9.1. I also cannot properly connect to the App or iTunes stores as the sign in either freezes (within the Settings or Apple Music apps) or the buttons don't work at all (iTunes app). I did a soft reset and a full restore but the issues still persist. Everything seems to as normal on my iPad and Macbook Pro so it is just an iPhone issue for me (for now).

Let's hope this gets noticed and fixed soon! Good luck everyone.

I've also now noticed I can't download any new apps, links in emails no longer work and 99% of the time if I sign out of Apple ID (I have two, which is annoying enough) I have to reboot to sign back in again - otherwise it just freezes. This is so unhelpful and very frustrating! Definitely glitches since updating last week.
