Q: After installing OS X 10.11.1 update, Mail crashes on startup

Thank you for quick reaction.

Have run Disk Utility, there was one error on the disk, repaired successfully.

However, the Mail keeps crashing.

I have also tried this: http://www.macworld.com/article/1162877/mail_crashes.html

But the Mail quits before I can make any action...

Any other ideas?

Update – partially solved:

In System Preferences / Internet Accounts I have tried to switch accounts on and off... Now it is clear that the problem is with Gmail:

When I switch the Gmail account off, the Mail works fine. When I switch it on again, the Mail crashes on start again.

Any ideas what to tweak on Gmail?

Thank you, tried this, did not help.

The problem is with Gmail account. When I switch it on, the Mail app crashes immediately.

Tired to limit no. of downloaded messages to 1 000 in Gmail IMAP settings, did not help.

Will try to clean messages from Gmail account and see if it gets better.

Problem (hopefully) solved. Switched Gmail on and off, Mail app now downloading all the Gmail messages again, but seems to work.
