Apple TV

Q: AirPlay Display won't turn on

I'm trying to connect my MacBook to Apple TV and my computer won't give me the option. The only option is off but I've been able to use it before. My MacBook and Apple TV are both up to date. How do I get mirror display to work?

What model is your Mac? It would need to be from 2011 or later.
What version of OSX? What firmware is on Apple TV?
Are both on the same network? Is Airplay enabled on Apple TV?

The Mac is 2012 and I just updated it to El Capitan. The Apple TV is up to date too and I'm not sure what the firmware is. It's worked from my computer before. They're both on the same network and airplay is enabled

If on wifi Try connecting Apple TV via ethernet
Test on another network
