Q: Netflix stuck on "accessing netflix"

I have tried rebooting with the remote, rebooting from the settings menu, and googles dns of 8.8.8.8 but my netflix will not get past the "accessing netflix" page.  I have rebooted my router and preformed a network connection test. All is working fine. I am able to use other programs on the apple tv without any issues but not netflix.  Please help!

That happened to me as well in iTunes ... Unplug ALL cables (including the power cable - your computer will power it) and have only the micro USB cable attached. Then open iTunes and you should see it as a device at that point.

I had the same problem when I connected to iTunes - sorry should have mentioned it. Make sure the only cable that is connected is the micro USB ... You don't need the hdmi or the power cable attached (it will be powered through your computer). Once you have the atv connected to your computer through ONLY the micro USB and you open iTunes, the ATV should show up under devices... Hope this helps!

Well, I finally have my Netflix back!  The micro USB cords we use for charging certain aparatus apparently didn't work with the ATV.  So I basically got lucky and found a friend with a cord that the Macbook did recognize, and was then able to restore it.  I thank you so much for your help, hezz!

I recently moved my t.v. and ATV to another room and now I can't use Netflix. It let's me access, but the suggested movies at the bottom of the screen are grayed out and when I click "play"  the spinning thing happens and then I get a message that I cannot access this movie and "try again later" - what gives?

Also, where can I go to verify that my Netflix charges are directed to my iTunes account? I don't see anything in "manage my account" where I can verify that Netflix charges are being paid.

Thanks, Apoul. Your solution worked perfectly and was much simpler and didn't require reconfiguring my settings. Perfect!

This is a  very frustrating bug in Netflix, which I wish they'd fix. The original post is from 2014 ... it's not 2016!

The only way to resolve this is to delete the app from your Netflix menu, reinstall the app, and sign in again.  It's a pretty quick fix, but Netflix should resolve.

One more possible solution unfortunately seems like can be a number of things, anyway check the region settings.  Mine was set to Cupertino (I live in Aus) i changed to automatic and voila it finally let me back in after trying for 2 hours which included resetting router and apple tv

For those of you that doesn't want to restore your Apple TV, there is a easier way to do it. Connect your Apple TV using your celular data and enter in Netflix. Netflix will open asking to a sign in and after that you just have to go back to your personal network.
