Q: Keychain errors

I changed my apple password

Keychain pop ups now appearing constantly

No password works

Keychain first aid does not work

Reset keychain but still requesting passwords

Now when reset option comes up it won't do it

Attempted to delete login files but they are greyed out

Attempted to use terminal to find keychain access folder to delete long code but no code shows

Im ready to chuck the thing out the window PLEASE HELP!

I am happy to completely wipe the Mac but when I tried to it didn't work! I just want to sell it now, I hate apple!

If anyone can help I would be so grateful, thank you.

iMac, OS X Mavericks (10.9.5)

Open System Preferences > Users & Groups then select the Password tab.

Make sure Admin is elected on the left.

Then click: Change Password the click Change Password one more time then type in the old password the new one you just created then type it again in Verify and type in a password hint. (That can be very handy in the future if you forget your password) then click Change Password.

Thank you Carolyn Samit but this did not work, I am still getting keychain messages appearing constantly.

Did you try this while booted into the Recovery Partition?

Eric I tried to wipe the mac completely so went into recovery mode I believe, but options were greyed out so when I turned off and on again it just loaded up like normal. I'm really not sure what I can do as the key chain issue is making the mac unusable and I can't wipe it to sell it!

Clarification question - when you booted into the Recovery Partition (command - R on a restart), the erase option was greyed out? Can you reinstall the OS while in the Recovery Partition?
