Ok, you'll need to be more specific. is it an iphone 5 or higher, are you both on the same wifi and have Bluetooth turned on.

i did view the link you sent me. i had also read it earlier when i decided to try airdrop. the link makes it sound so easy but yet when i tap that little icon nothing happens.
i'm not sure how much clearer i can be. i did find out that airdrop is not on my ipad2. though i would have it on my macbook pro because it gives me the choice of how i want it sent.
at least when i click on the icon on my mac it shows the blue line of pictures being downloaded and even puts it in a message type box. but that is where it stops. no option to send. it doesn't even give me the contacts that i can send to.
