Q: Allergy to Apple Watch Sport band

It seems we are not lucky, my wife and myself both declared allergy to the Apple Watch Sport band, black one. Irritation, red skin, spots, etc...

I read here and there we are not the first to experience such trouble, but:

the topic is in the hands of Apple assistance since 10 days already.

I am told they should get answer from the engineers before any further step.

(I am not expecting the engineers to be able to give an assessment on a medical issue, but they claim it is in their procedures to wait for this answer)

Did anyone experienced such an issue? What was the final outcome from Apple?

I feel like they try to save time until I give up on the topic.

This will surely not happen as I do have multiple hundreds euros watch, twice, sleeping in their nicely designed white boxes...

Thanks for sharing your experience.

You are really doing this backwards. You and your wife need to visit an allergist and have them inspect the rash that results from wearing the watch and do a scratch test to determine what it is that you are both allergic to. You should be able to get a list of chemicals that are in the sport band to give your allergist.

You are right Deggie, I should have mentioned 2 things:

1- we did not proceed in deep allergy test, but showed my wife's wrist to our family doctor, who did not have doubt about the reason for the skin reaction

2- I am a watch passionate. I have almost 100 different watches, completely different types, materials, including various plastic types, neoprene, etc..., including other sport watches I have to wear a bit tight on the wrist, etc... and this without any doubt, the first time we experience such a reaction.

Thanks anyway, for pushing for clarification.
