I think everyone on this thread knows exactly where those belong.
They told you?
Or you just speculated again. You are one person, speak for yourself, self aggrandizing is childish.

Thank you for providing me with another equally insightful piece of help. The number of people you have helped here is literally countless.
It is in no way countless, it can be simply derived from the number of points I have (along with some simple math) eg: your point score is zero, signifying that you have provided no help to anyone at all.
You do know how this forum works I assume (but now I am speculating.

Oct 27, 2015 1:12 AM in response to josselindegesby Richard Kelly2,Can I earnestly suggest that you follow what I did, and create a bootable installer on a USB stick using one machine and then boot the 'bricked' machine with it - see my method a few posts back.
I only add this as having to do a TM restore is a huge task, PLUS it may reinstall an OS that is faulty, putting you right back in uncertain territory for a successful .1 update.
At the risk of being accused of speculating, it may be that a small subset of us have a corruption in our 10.11.0 OS which is tripping up the .1 updater.

Oct 27, 2015 3:46 AM in response to Csound1by gbdoc,Based on your avatar, I’d guess you feel that the pen(-cil) is mightier than the sword. I largely share that view. But that doesn’t make writing exclusively a martial art. It’s my impression that you’re overusing it for battle - needless, inappropriate battle at that, at least as far as this thread is concerned.

Why don't you tell Apple, you won't get anywhere suing me.

Oct 27, 2015 8:04 AM in response to gbdocby JimFell,Similar experience. My update to El Capitan went fine on my 5 year old iMac and it is running just fine. Different story on my late 2013 Mac Book Pro. Initial try froze at about 90%. Spoke to Apple support. They were very helpful and responsive and we tried everything they could think of to get a working copy of El Capitan on my Mac Book Pro. No luck. Used Time Machine to restore to Yosemite - worked fine as it had in the past. Called Parallels to see if there was some conflict between Parallels and El Cap. Parallels tech support said it was an Apple Problem -- not theirs. Gave it a few days and the .1 version of El Cap was available and the release notes said they had fixed some issues so I tried the update again. Same result -- froze at the black screen with white apple logo and progress bar at about 90%. Let it sit for several hours hoping the installer would right the ship. No luck. Used Time Machine to restore to Yosemite and all is working fine. Never had this kind of problem with Apple products before (Desktop, Laptop, iPad and iPhone owner). Will run Yosemite, Parallels and my other Apps on the Mac Book Pro until I am certain El Cap has been fixed.

Oct 27, 2015 8:12 AM in response to JimFellby Csound1,Which version of Parallels? (version number and edition please)
Apple do not write different versions of OS X so that Parallels (or any other app) is compatible, it's the other way around. But shifting the blame is something that Parallels does well.
