Oct 27, 2015 11:43 PM in response to huds13by myjovian,Well the airdrop did not work again after it showed up for a few minutes. I've talked to the Apple People online and on the phone, we have tried everything but nothing worked.
The last thing they asked me to do is to go to a retail store and have a genius looked at it and checked if there was any problem.
I'm surprised that once i got there talked to a genius about my problem, and then connected to their Wifi, Airdrop suddenly worked!! They did not even do anything yet.
but now, I'm back at home, connected to my own wifi, it is NOT WORKING...im trying to look into it. maybe the wifi causes the problem, i don't know.
Oh my god!!! I've to say Apple *****

Oct 29, 2015 2:52 PM in response to huds13by RadicalRick,I Just gave up, now I'm using Bit Torrent Sync and I'm really impressed so far. I would Recommend that if you are wanting to share large files from your mac to your iPhone go with it. best part is you can see the same exact file and change that file from your phone iPad etc from anywhere. you don't even have to be close to your mac for it to work.

Mar 7, 2016 12:41 PM in response to huds13by Al-Glen,If I want to transfer files from my iMac to my iPad Airdrop won't work if I have them both switched on at the start. The way I get Airdrop to work is as follows:
Turn on the iMac but keep the iPad turned off. Select the files on the iMac and click on Share - Airdrop. Of course the iPad does not appear on screen as it is switched off. So then I switch on the iPad and then it shows up. For some reason switching off the iPad and switching it on only after selecting the files and clicking Share-Airdrop enables it to make the connection. Airdrop works fine this way but only this way. Hope this helps.
