My 6 plus just stared doing this same thing but I know if I take it to Apple they will just say it's because my screen is cracked. Would getting my screen fixed help the problem or is it a more internal problem?

Mine started to act this way about four weeks ago.  I have tried all the recommended "do firsts" and the problem persists.

The problem is that it is intermittent.  Very difficult to show on cue.  I am concerned this is going to be an ordeal to rectify.

Same problem here with my brand new iphone 6. The phone is not even a week old and random apps opening and also typing started the second day I had phone. Took it to Verizon but it behaved at the store so they would not do anything. I have to wonder if Apple plans on helping any of us with this problem or not? This is my first Apple product and I ready to go back to Samsung if there is no resolution forthcoming!

I hope someone at Apple is monitoring this forum??????

    Hello,

I ended up taking my phone in to my service provider and they sent it away to Apple.  Apple replaced it with a brand new phone and said it was a hardware issue, so I'm pretty happy now. I'm sorry I mucked around and tried to keep going with the phone the way it was.  Yes, it was a pain waiting, but not as frustrating as dealing with a "possessed" phone.  My phone was under warranty.  Good luck.

Can you make a video of your phone playing up and show the serial number on the back with a friend's phone? Maybe take that in as proof?

Mind did the same thing (played up intermittently) but as soon as it did it couple weeks back, I drove straight to service provider and it was normal for a few seconds but acted up on cue, thankfully.

It's a hardware problem. Make an appointment at the genius bar and get it fixed.

What kind of "official statement" do you want from them? You want them to take out an ad in the newspaper to tell people that your phone is defective? Take it back and get it fixed.

Mine did not start doing it until I replaced the screen after it was cracked.  During the past year it never did it until the screen was changed. Have read posts but have not seen one mentioning the problem after screen replacement. Having my supposedly good screen replaced to see if that is the fix.  Basically I think the problem is defective screens

For me, the issue only occurs during voice calls.  Verizon is my service provider.  The problem goes away if I disable LTE service for voice.  What I mean is I change the "Enable LTE" setting from "Voice & Data" to "Data Only" (Settings-->Cellular-->Enable LTE>Data Only).

My iPhone was (and might still be--jury's still out) doing this. If your phone is under warranty, bring it in to the Apple store to have them crack it open, disconnect and reconnect the display cables. If you are already outside of your warranty (as I am) and have access to a pentalobe driver and a small phillip's head screwdriver, you should be able to do this yourself. iFixit has a great tutorial to do this yourself. Check it out:

So far, no random apps opening or unmade swipes/taps. Promising.
