Q: QuickTime 7.7.8 Pro for Windows to MPEG conversion No Audio

I have some MOV files to burn to DVD. As a first step, I wanted to convert them to MPEG or some compatible format then use Pinnacle Studio for the DVD authoring.

I have QuickTime Pro 7.7.8 for Windows 7.

Input file,

video:                                                   Audio

data rate: 102.14 mbit/sec---------------------18.43 mbits/sec

sample count: 104--------------------------------168165

Format: Apple ProRes 422 (LT)-------------Integer (Little Endian)

Sample rate: N/A---------------------------------48.00 kHz

Sample size: N/A--------------------------------24 bytes

I can do File -> Export to a MP4 format file but there is no audio!

MPEG-4 Export Settings:

File format: MP4

Video settings:

Video format: MPEG-4 Improved (or H.264)

Data Rate: 32768 kbits/sec  (could set it to 102110 for H.264 format)

Image size: 1920 x 1080 HD

Frame rate: 30

Audio settings:

Audio format: AAC-LC (Music)

Data Rate: 128 kbps

Channels: Stereo

Output Sample rate: 48.0 kHz

Encoding Quality: Good

Tried out many combinations but still could not get the audio exported

I am seeing a lot of discussing going on about the "no audio" after export. Did anybody solve it for the MOV -> MPEG-4 for Windows? I would appreciate if you can describe the steps.

Thanks in advance.

Have you confirmed that your original .mov files are not compatible with Pinnacle Studio? Ideally, you would like to eliminate the need to transcode.

Something looks a bit odd about your audio info. Is that data rate accurate (18.43 mbits/sec)? I'm also wondering about the audio format...can you provide any more details about the audio track? Integer (Little Endian)...is that PCM uncompressed, stereo, multi-channel?
