Q: Unable to create alarm after pairing with 6S Plus and watchOS 2.0.1

I have had my watch for about two months. It was paired with a 5S until Sunday when I purchased a 6S Plus.  I paired it Sunday, and updated to 2.0.1 on Monday.  I am attempting to create my alarms again on the watch, after I set the time it just stalls and eventually crashes the app.  I have restarted the watch twice and it continues to do it.  I have attempting the alarm creation about 8 times.  Thank you.

    Hi Justin

Try restarting both your iPhone and your watch. Turn both devices off first, then restart your iPhone before restarting your watch:

    • iPhone: press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the red slider appears; drag the slider to turn your iPhone off; when it has finished turning off, press and hold the Sleep/Wake button again until you see the Apple logo.
    • Watch: press and hold the side button until you see the Power Off slider; drag the slider to turn off. To restart, press and hold the side button.

If that does not help, try force restarting both devices (the iPhone first, followed immediately by the watch, whilst the iPhone is still restarting):

    • iPhone: press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home button for around 10 seconds, until you see the Apple logo.
    • Watch: press and hold both the side button and Digital Crown for around 10 seconds, until you see the Apple logo.

If that still does not help, try unpairing and re-pairing your watch and iPhone. The Watch app on your iPhone takes backups of your watch automatically, including a refresh when unpairing via the app. When setting it up again, choose to restore your watch from backup when offered the option. Most data and settings will be restored, with some exceptions (eg Apple Pay cards).

Have you tried all of the suggested steps?

I have tried the restart and force restart.  I just unpaired them.  In the process of pairing. I will post the outcome of the pairing.

I have paired it using the most recent backup, didn't fix it.  I then unpaired it and paired it using the previous backup, still doesn't work.

A couple of further processes to try before contacting Apple Support:

    1. Repeat unpairing / re-pairing, but set up as a new watch instead of restoring from backup.

    2. Reset and restore both devices:

    • Unpair your watch from your iPhone using the Watch app (this also refreshes the watch backup):
      • iPhone: Watch app > My Watch > General > Apple Watch > Unpair Apple Watch.
    • Backup your iPhone:
      • via iCloud (encrypted as standard) or
      • via iTunes on a computer - IMPORTANT: choose to "Encrypt iPhone backup", so that the backup includes sensitive data including Health and Activity data, saved passwords and Wi-Fi settings.
    • Erase all content and settings on your iPhone:
      • iPhone: Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings.
    • Restore iPhone from backup:
    • Pair and set up your watch:
      • Choose to restore the watch from backup (Restore from Backup) when offered the option during set up.
      • This will restore most of your data and settings, with some exceptions (eg Apple Pay cards, passcode).
      • Set up your Apple Watch - Apple Support

If neither of these help, contact Apple Support or make a Genius Bar reservation with a view to having your watch checked under warranty:
